We needed fuel on Saturday. Love’s through the EFS/TSD program in Sheboygan (which was on our route that day) had the lowest prices around. The posted pump price was $3.129. After the fees and TSD cut we paid $2.879 which was a $0.25 a gallon savings net of the TSD charges. Best price by a long shot, even after looking at GasBuddy.

Which Marathon facility was this?
-
You sure it happened like that Chris?
You go up there for a new seat and want a problem fixed that another shop couldn’t fix either. You have them chasing a ghost because you can’t replicate the problem and have the other shop in your ear while Marathon is working on your coach.
Trust me they don’t need to shove inverters down your throat. Now your coach is fixed and you bad mouth them and tell all to watch your wallet.
Your whole post is bullshit.
Later,

Inverters are repairable also, I use to send inverters down to a small shop in southern Ca Bio Benefit Energy. I got to know the Owner and his son over the phone, never met them but both were very honest and knew what they were were doing, Quite a few times I sent inverters to them for repair and instead of replacing them for big bucks they would repair them for little bucks. They said most of the time it is the contacts in the inverter causing the problem, And most of the time it was caused by electric heaters brought in by the owner. Electric heaters are high amps. They said electric heaters are hell on inverters, even know your not inverting the heater most receptacles in coach run through the inverter contacts. In my bus I keep a Dyson Heater so I installed a 120v receptacle straight to breaker panel not through inverter, It has 2 toe kick heaters in bus and Royale did not run them through the inverters. Because that reason.

Hi All,
That Microphor was a smell blowing machine alright… And yes, we have done the upgrade to the Tecma toilet – at Marathon in Dallas. All the AC’s are somewhat new too – we had them replaced in Oregon a few years ago. And – we ran the washer just after we parked it and haven’t driven so I believe it has water in it. Just a few weeks ago.
As for the grey tank in our bus, there is a seperate vent for the gray tank on the roof – it’s on the other side and a little more aft. The grey vent you can see heading to the roof through the louvers above the washing machine/dryer. The black vent that goes to the roof you can’t see and it seems like it’s burried in the wall between the bath and the closet/bunks pretty good.
As for the grey water drains (washer, sinks, etc..) yes, they have the air admittance valves (those nice ones I replaced them a bit ago) – and they used to be a problem, but I don’t think it’s them this time.
In this case, when the rear AC’s are turned off you can flush with no smells – if you turn them on, then you get smell which seems to blow right out of the AC vents. With the bath AC on the smell is very strong, with just the bedroom ac on it’s smells but a little bit less so.
This is why I got up on the roof with the incense stick while the AC’s were running, I could see the bath AC taking in the smoke in the front area where the air return box is – there is a foam gasket there that seems like it’s supposed to be sealing the return to the metal base…but I guess it isn’t doing it’s job. I went back down into the bus after doing this with the incense and could smell the incense in the bus now – so it had to be taking in the smell from the outside and transfering it into the bus.
I know by design it isn’t supposed to take in outside air… but, we all know how that goes!
I’d also noticed the problem is sort of random. I now think this has a lot to do with the direction the wind is blowing – even if it’s a light wind… I figure that if it blows away from the AC units there isn’t any smell, but if it’s blowing towards them…
After gooping it up – it still smells but less. I think I will try to check the rear AC and goop it up next.
I will also try this happy camper stuff – and if it can reduce the smell then that will help the overall problem too.
Hopefully this whole experience will help someone in the future!

I only called him as a last resort. He always answered his phone- even Saturday afternoon. Last time my fuse was blown on the power cable motor. After asking what year it was he said look at #51. Of course he was correct.

I have replaced the power supply to the crestron on my 2006 Liberty XL2 twice in a year. The first time replaced with a used unit that didn’t last too long, then a new one from Liberty. It is located in the rear closet outer cavity drivers side (accesible by removing the inner closet wall) along with more wires than you can shake a stick at.
You might want to check there., Good Luck

East Tennessee Luxury Coach has a 97 Liberty and a 99 Liberty for sale. call them for a walk through. Even if you don’t buy them its always nice to get a better idea of what your wanting or what your preferences are before spending money

FWIW, I have always tried to use Bendix or Prevost OEM parts such as Haldex or other brands Prevost uses. I am not saying other brands or offshore manufactured parts are bad, but I just feel more comfortable getting exact replacements.
Relay valve failures are not very common, but when they fail they are usually open and the bus is not going very far until the valve is replaced or repaired.

Jim, The more I think about your description of the leaks the less I know. I alluded to it above, but what follows is my thinking aloud. I am hoping some of the other folks on here will jump in because I admit to being troubled by this.
The ABS valve cannot release air if there is no air to release. The ABS valve sits between the air tank, its relay valve and the brake chamber. With the coach parked, the emergency brake engaged no air should be downstream from the relay valve to any brake chamber.
A relay valve does not supply air pressure to only one side brake chamber. It serves to supply air pressure to an axle or axles.
That suggests if it leaks out of an ABS valve air pressure is going to all brake chambers on that primary or secondary system. That would mean the brakes are being applied, except on the side and axle where air is leaking from the ABS valve.
I have no clue if this will help tell you anything, but there is a test of the ABS system every time you turn the key on and are waiting for the ECM lights to go out before starting. Turn the key on, but not to start. You should hear four distinct clicking sounds then silence. What is happening is the ABS system doing a self check. If you want to hear it actually function, air up the coach and shut it off. Apply the service brake and turn on the key. Instead of clicks you should hear four distinct air releases. This is called a “huff” test. After the huff test sequence there should be no additional sounds of leaking or losing air. A partner can assist by helping you determine if during the huff test one of the ABS modules has a different sound from the other three.
I will continue to try to think this through, but if instead of a relay valve leaking to atmosphere it is leaking to the brake chambers I think driving the coach could be a problem. As mentioned previously when the relay valve fails it typically loses air to atmosphere and usually escapes such an amount the bus air system cannot be fully pressurized,
Something isn’t right, but I can’t grasp it right now beyond what I have said.

We were familiar this 2002 Marathon Coach 0740XLV1 and its accident We were the owners from 2002-04
August 13, 2008. I-15 west of Mesquite NV. This was a 2002 Marathon Coach XLII single slide. Tires on bus at the time had 66,000 dated 2001, were original Left front tire blew at speed over 80 mph. Air temps over 100 degrees, wear pattern showed under inflated, At final resting position on its side. One fatality at scene. Driver/owner survived. Neither using seatbelt

If I had a smart phone my life would change. I could ignore people I am dining with to take phone calls. I could sent people that call me to voice mail. I could walk down the street with the smart phone in my hand while gazing at the screen and ignoring traffic and other people. I could take photos of every meal I have ever eaten and send those photos to everyone on my contact list.
There is a never ending list of stuff I could use a smart phone for like banking, getting driving directions, checking the slope of my driveway, and getting apps for every business in the world.
Nope. Not going to happen.

If the generator runs through the inverter(s) it means some of the power from the generator is charging the batteries, and that some of the power is a pass through to those circuits powered by inverter. I think. The reason for hesitance is not enough is known about what sounds like a very unusual wiring.
Does shore power go through the inverter(s)?
What is the current setting for charging on the inverter?
Generally speaking a generator will put out more power than is available from shore power if the generator rating exceeds 12.5KW. There should be no overload or shut down of the generator so not enough information is available to determine what is going on.
Vantare runs all its power through inverters so that is not an issue, but Vantare has a well designed and thought out system, but not all converters have done that. What is concerning is the suggestion the previous owner made the change and that is a bright red warning signal that something is not right.

Bernie,
Thanks! Very helpful input. I greatly appreciate it.

The guys at Inverter Services spoke highly about them as well……
I will have 2 x Xantech 4000W inverters and remote control panels for sale that are working perfectly. I’m probably a little premature replacing these, but what the heck!
