It is definitely something Allison needs to sort out, but the flashing D occurs if I try to put it in gear when the revs are too high such as on fast idle, or if I haven;t got my foot on the brake.
If you have slides the issue could be related to a problem indicating to the transmission the slide is not closed.
Whatever it is have you tried reading the codes? You can access them through the key pad. If you don’t have the manual let me know and I will try to pull out my information so you can see if it is something you can chase yourself.

Citronella oil is a bug deterrent that is easily applied to screens. Put on a pair of rubber gloves, so the oil stays off your skin. Pour a little bit of citronella on a paper towel and rub it all over the screen. It should keep no-see-ums from coming through.

I am 5’6″ in heels, I need a step ladder to clean the low mirrors. Lol Perhaps they won’t get dirty that high? I will need something to clean I won’t have all that stainless to keep up with.

Doug, I’m 6ft tall and couldn’t touch the mirror. You need a 7ft ladder or a pole with a sponge and then put a soft cloth on it to dry them. That would irritate me. It’s very hard to get everything right even on a new one.

I looks like a pretty standard bulb. It looks like a T-15 base, maybe an S-5 bulb. This might help. You will need to determine the voltage and maximum wattage or desired wattage if less than maximum rating.

I appreciate the information on the delam charge air cooler. The advice about what needs to be looked at was very helpful. Having to replace the charge air cooler is that a common occurence?

if a transmission retarder is a must on your list then Newell is off since that is not available on them. I had an XLII and went through the dlamination process it did take time and Jon’s advice is spot on. Everything is a compromise and the search is part of the fun. Great group here they will help you spend your money for sure but the more you ask the more you will learn from everyone’s experience.

Not only don’t look commercial, don’t drive to attract attention. This past weekend cops in 5 states had an I-75 blitz to go after folks without seatbelts, speeders and what they called “aggressive drivers” which is assume is tailgaters and folks changing lanes often.

I really doubt if there is a controller specific to the Prevost. My guess is an off the shelf controller will have to be wired in as if it were a car.
The problem with a controller as described is you do not use air brakes like you do hydraulic brakes on a car. A long downhill for example in a car might require pumping the brakes or a long steady brake application. You cannot do that in the coach because you will bleed down the air or heat up the hubs. Instead you apply brakes until the coach slows below a certain speed, release them and allow speed to build slowly with the speed control coming to a great extent from a gear reduction and use of the Jake or retarder. That means most of the time the trailer will be pushing the coach downhill. It might mean the controller will have to be located within reach so you can use the controller to manually apply trailer brakes as required.
How do others with heavy trailers control the braking?

I didn’t mention the trains because it didn’t bother us, but then we tend to sleep like the dead so not much bothers us…
