I only use shop air if I’m working on it Jerry. This Liberty will maintain aux air forever, but the brake tanks bleed down in just a couple days. Just the opposite of other buses I have had’ usually the aux bleeds down and the brakes hold up.

This solenoid open and closes the fresh water fill. I was able to unscrew the notch piece from the housing without taking the valve out of the bus. Found a very small piece of teflon tape had lodged itself in the seated valve.

The click you hear pushing on the rocker switch is this valve. There is a small spring inside so keep the housing against the threads until clearing.

Contacting Marathon tech support expert, Leon suggested looking at this valve for obstruction. Marathon has used this valve for many years with very low failure of valve. Most often dirt in narrow passage.

A late model XL had just about as many improvements Prevost could engineer. They are over built and with so many of them on the road they have proven to be what is likely the most problem free chassis ever made. The XL-II, like any newer product, has gone through some refinements and fixes. If you go with a XL-II just know what the fixes have been and whether they have been performed on the coach you are looking at. If you want slides, I’d say a XL-II or H would be a better choice. If you don’t mind the lower seating position for the driver and passenger and don’t care for the polished stainless, the H is a great choice. It has much larger storage bays. It is a few inches taller, if that matters. You should make it a point to walk through a few conversions of each Prevost model and see what you like.

Thanx everyone for the input. Finally found a local “Mech” after much ado with phones and Coach-Net. Everyone seemed to want to tow me to their place of business. No way for this one. Coach-Net came through for the service call as planned and mech showed up, 30mins later not only the project is complete but cleaned, pressure checked and all is good. Yes, I had him do the whole change, spring, piston and o’rings. Old o’ring was actually broken from the hammering of the valve and spring. Also changed the filter while at it. I’m just getting a little to fat and brittle to get into this position to do this job. Well worth my ERS to Coach-Net also.
