Signed up for Bella Terra and, although they asked me the age of the coach (15 years), they didn’t ask for pics or make any comment about the age of the coach.

In fact, they said I could come in three days early and stay three days later than the rally, at the same rate, so no worries about the age of a Prevost at Bella Terra, despite the advertisment on this website.

    Tim,

What advertisement are you talking about relating to the 10 year rule at Bella Terra? I’ve looked at both the advertisements and see no reference to the 10 year rule.

Bella Terra does NOT have a 10 year rule…………………….they have a 15 year rule! Look at the disclaimer on the web site under “book your stay”.

If you deal with Courtney or Katie, you will not be asked as they know what a Prevost is. If you book through the web site you will get a telephone call from a workcamper who wouldn’t know a Prevost from a Bounder, let alone what year your Prevost is.

PS We stay at the resort often and although our coach is older than 15 years we have never had to beg to enter. My coach has been 15 yrs old for a few years now. They know what a Newell is too.

Thanks Steve, that should clear it up. Glad there are some Newell guys on here. Get your buddies to come to the AutoFest in February, we’ll have some good natured fun.

I got turned away from Half Moon resort in CA becuz the wifey told them we have a Prevost Bus Conversion. So when I checked at the office I was told by the clerk the owner didn’t take conversions becuz of electriclal issue he had in the past. As I was driving thru the park to leave the owner came running out saying we could stay, supposity he saw our RIVA sticker on the side of the bus. Ha Ha

A 5 year old bumper pull trailer is under 10 years and qualifies for many parks that won’t take a greater than 10 y/o prevost.

You guys have to much fun in the SE USA.

Jon, I was asked the age when making my reservation to attend my first Oysterfest. I, being basically an honest person, told them the exact age of my coach but not mentioning it was a “Classic” from 1990. They requested a couple of photos. I complied. I received a phone call from one of the staff that, “It’s a Prevost so we will make an exception to the 10 year age rule.” Of course when I arrived I found the space they reserved just for me was immediately beside the “doggie do park!”

A phone call in the past to Heartland resulted in the “Pride of Ownership” comment which I will gladly bank on. I can’t disagree that a 12 year old Bounder likely looks like poo. On the other hand, that is the reason I bought new stickers for my doors that say 2014. In 2024 I will update them again.

My coach is 16 years old……. As far as being rejected because of age would really piss me off.

There has NEVER been a rock mined in Southern Illinois any harder than my head. I think we should all tell them to shove it…..

    I Reject Rejection……..

I agree with Jon. When they ask the age of your coach, ask them why they want to know. When they say they have an age rule of none older than 10+ years, ask them the age of their business. When they say10+ years, tell them that you also have a rule and will not pay and stay at a park that is more than10+years old because the infrastructure at their park is too old to accomodate your NEW 45 foot coach and hang up.

Like I said in an earlier post on this thread, I fit within their silly unthought out rule. But my son has his own Prevost Bus and does not fit their silly unthought out rule. We often travel togeather. When they tell me I can stay and he has to go..YEA RIGHT…I DONT THINK SO…Again, Like I said they all can KISS O’L RUSTY.. I feel certain they won’t miss my money. And I know I won’t miss their shore power.

One thing that has changed dramatically is the economy of a stay in an RV park.

Not too long ago with the higher cost of fuel and the relatively inexpensive cost of a night’s stay at an RV park it did not make sense to park for free at camp Walmart and run the generator all night to stay warm or cool.

As RV park costs have risen at the same time fuel has dropped in price there is significantly less justification to stay at an RV park, especially one whose costs exceed the price of a hotel room in the same area.
