They are out for us. They despise everything about us. yesterday 1:15 pm Hwy 138 Pearblossom , Littlerock CA, heading west into Littlerock CA. 4 lanes into 2 , Sedan cuts in late down the middle ,dust , rocks flying . Give em the one finger salute , gone and passing more traffic like an idiot..
Come into Littlerock traffic slows to the light at McDonalds, the sedan is waiting edge of the road, tatooed gang look asshole has a tennis ball rock, fires it though curbside window , shows a pistol, gets in his car , down a side street , gone.
Im towing enclosed , heavy, 75′ long, wife following , 2nd Coach behind that. Quick picture of window, one witness on the street , we get out of there .
Had we stuck around, Called 911 , I’m sure the Sherrif would have responded, manhunt ensuing, shootout soon after, town on fire, 2 shotup and burned Marathon Coaches on the 5:00 LA news.

Very good topic.
Always avoid a violent confrontation if at all possible. Yet, most importantly, one must be MENTALLY PREPARED for a violent confrontation, and if one carries a firearm, one must truly be proficient as in a violent confrontation, the sum of one’s training will significantly affect the desired end result – survival.
Real training / education / extensive practice / cognition is imperative.
And as said previously, you must be able to articulate credible circumstances why you were in IMMEDIATE fear of losing your or someone else’s life.We must always be aware of our surroundings and NEVER ignore our intuition of what we see. Many crime victims state they thought something was not right, but ignored their intuition and consequently became a victim.

Shelly I gotta ask you.
What in the hell were you doing in the Tweekerville Capital of the High Desert.
Unless you got business around there, there’s other ways to cut across the high desert.

I said it before and will repeat it. We are despised because we are rich bastards driving a Prevost.
Drive and act accordingly.

Interesting conversation. Monday I took my bus out for a run and when I got back to the park the spotter, who also happened to be the manager, came out to direct me into the back in space. A few spaces down from me was a guy in a very nice looking Country Coach.
As I was shutting off the house and start batteries and hooking up shore power. The manager was over talking to the Country Coach guy. When I was finishing up the manager walked back over to me and with a smile on his face said “that guy doesn’t like you high and mighty Prevost owners much”! I never saw the guy before but his mind was made up because of my ride. That makes no sense, I guess it’s like they say “It takes all Kinds”!

Wavel started out this thread with a story about a fifth wheel having a problem with apparent protesters.
I saw a video on Facebook of a motorhome towing a car trying to slowly travel through a large group of people in the street; I don’t know why the people were in the street.
The back of the MH had a ladder. There were people on top of the motorhome, they were on top of the tow vehicle, and there were people hanging on the ladder.
The people on the street also opening the bay doors on the MH and pulling stuff out of the bays as well has trying to break the windows of the MH and the tow vehicle.
It wasn’t a very pretty picture.

A good friend of mine owns a couple MB dealerships and he came away unscathed but his friend was not as lucky.
I learned a new term I didn’t know before this bullshit started. Truk is trying to attach it.
Enjoy, its only a minute long

Jon,
You are absolutely correct. There will always be those amongst the have-nots that resent and hate the haves. And, some can be violent and destructive. Nice upscale cars a perfect example. I had a nice collector car keyed recently. Jealousy is for sure a terrible green-eyed monster.
I always do my best to avoid bad or questionable situations. As it’s said, “shun the appearance oF evil”. I would only act if put in a corner with absolutely no way out but in such case would endeavor to completely neutralize the threat and with no remorse. A weapon will be met by a weapon. I believe in having “a dog that barks here and bites way over yonder”.

Bernie, We still have a homebase in Ca. Santa Clarita. Coming from Austin TX. I-10 to SoCal. It’s 90 miles of 210 fwy thru the city or 138 thru the dessert.. I hate getting thru that region .
-
Yea I get it. The 210 isn’t as empty as it used to be.
Anymore I refuse to go into LA proper or the I.E, won’t do it.

This very thing is the reason that world wars have been fought. The have-nots wanting, whatever it might be, that which is owned by the haves.
This situation is not new. In fact, “There Is Nothing New Under The Sun.”
It’s just the cold hard facts of life.
We’re not ever going to be able to, “just all get along”.

I’m in California for a couple of weeks sans bus. Had some business to take care of and the most urgent item was that I had two car key fobs that needed batteries.
The local dealer had their entire lot (Desert European Motorcars) fenced off and all of the cars were removed from the front of the buildings and out of the showrooms.
I asked my service writer were they remodeling and he said no. There was a protest/gathering/march at a park nearby and rocks were thrown at the cars. Apparently at other dealerships, there were cars stolen and run into the dealerships showrooms.
Scary times, people have gone nuts. Protesting is one thing….. looting, stealing and damaging property is another. The culprits should be caught and prosecuted!
The dealership had 12 guards on the property Wednesday night to protect the 8-10 high-end brands that were relocated behind the buildings.

Wow, the worst we had to endure in indio was a overly ambitious dust devil that leveled a couple alumawood shade structures at our ORI resort

Harry, a treat about safety and security or even discussing the mess the USA is in right now is totally ok. But as you see the threat was starting being spoiled by comments of your president, it started to become political.
And yes, hardly anything discussed on here is political that’s why it’s such a great forum.
My hearth goes out to my friends down south. Stay safe.
