Security in a fragile nation
On the morning news, I could not help but notice a Dodge Ram in some metro area pulling a nice 5 th wheel surrounded by protestors/rioters. I don’t know the outcome of that image but this is a time when many of us are wanting to move. Sadly, not all highways are for driving now. Can I assume some are changing routes or taking other measures to avoid potential problems? Sometimes I think it could be helpful to confront the ” elephant in the room” on a forum like this.

I would be extra careful driving a Prevost or any other motorhome in a metro area right now. I have experienced in normal times being cut off, flashed the bird and yelled at only because I am driving a nice motorhome. I am sure many of you have experienced the same.

We drove around Louisville and through Cincinnati yesterday evening in the daylight. We checked Google maps and Waze to make sure the interstates were not slowing down before we did. I would have driven around the loop in Cincy if I-71 would have been moving slow. I do not think it hurts to be aware.

Guns and ammo, a must when traveling trust that when a protester hears a few rounds going off and through the front windshield they will all clear a way for your to pass, but deff good to be aware and check routs ahead of time and try and avoid conflict as much as possible but if it finds you best to be ready than sorry.

I have guns. I carry them in the bus. I dislike guns. I will do anything necessary to never even have to consider putting one in my hand because I know once I do that I am obligated to use it because the situation has left me no alternative.
My best weapon when in the bus is the ignition key. If I have any concerns or see any threats I have and will make use of the key to start the engine and drive away from the threat.
Driving into or toward and area that has the potential to be a problem is just plain risky and stupid.

Year ago I traveled through Mexico . The advise was not to be driving at night . I headed that advise and had a great 8 months . I think we do the same and all will be well . I see no reason to drive at night . Get off the road around 5pm and start out at 5am . I have been doing it for years and I will continue . we are at war and as the election approaches it will get worse . The left does not care about you or I they want there control back . Be safe out there and avoid Big cities .

This is not a political or left versus right issue. It is about a group of people who have a grievance and it appears they feel the actions they are taking will get those grievances addressed. It is just unfortunate the way they are delivering their message has resulted in vandalism or violence.
Speaking personally it seems to me the way things are unfolding it is driving a wedge between the protesters and whoever it is they are protesting against.

I think there are some really bad people using the cover of generally-peaceful protests to further a violent agenda. It certainly takes away from the message of the protesters. Sadly, you have to assume that any large gathering right now could quickly deteriorate. I’ll continue to give them a wide berth.

How do you deal with our President breaking up a completely peaceful demonstration with flash/bang grenades and tear gas just so he could walk across the street for a photo op at a Church he has not visited since his inauguration?

If your gonna talk politics on here get it right. Your favorite channels CNN and MSNBC have to walk back those comments because they proved tear gas wasn’t used and the people were warned 3 times to move.
This is whats wrong with the whole damn country.
