As Tom says Prevost doesn’t want to be the lead.

There is more to it, but suffice it to say that when the Prevost Prouds were the only group of Prevost owners, and they were able to pull in large numbers everyone from the converters to dealers to Prevost participated in one way or another and the rallies were always associated with and just preceding the FMCA conventions. That helped to justify the cost or participation to Prevost and the dealers.

Now each group or club wants to do their own thing. I would almost wager that if the leaders of each club or group would agree to participate in the exploratory process so it is not soley a PC venture the biggest hurdle would be overcome. Once everyone decides to move towards that single goal everything else will rapidly fall into place.

OMG, do we really have to worry that folks who belong to POG won’t attend a Prevost rally that has PC cooties all over it?

I could be wrong, but except for a few true believers, I’ll bet that most of the folks who belong to POG are just Prevost enthusiasts seeking information, like the folks who post here, and are not all that interested in whatever animosity the owner of POG has against PC. Perhaps a big rally would be an opportunity for some sort of detente between the groups.

Anyway, I’m interested as long as the guy at the admission gate won’t look too closely at my bus on the way in.

Please don’t interpret any remarks about other groups not participating meaning POG. The problem is nobody so far has wanted to participate.

We have reached out to everyone and the problem is the reception has been liuke warm or non existent across the board. We need our members who agree with the idea and who belong to other Prevost groups, clubs or organizations to try to drum up support. It will succeed on a grand scale if we all pull together.

Being new to owning a Prevost, I never thought there would be such segmentation among Prevost owners.

I joked about Liberty owners having a front row at an event but was truly kidding. I really don’t understand the cold shoulders one group has over another. Life is too short for that. I would certainly enjoy a large gathering.

I don’t think there is much rift between the various groups when you consider the groups as a whole. I know here on PC we have members that belong to other groups. I think what happened over the years is as the number of Prevost coaches grew it became apparent to the owners that there were enough others with their interests that allowed them to create converter specific groups, or special interest groups, or groups from a geographic location.

So now there are a number of different Prevost clubs or organizations all of which began with a focus on a special interest.

While owners of a particular conversion may socialize, and owners with an interest in motorcycles may have their own rallies, or owners with an interest in partying may be in a club, we all share the Prevost chassis in common. That was the core reason for PC, which was to supplement every group for our mutual advantage.

But that doesn’t mean Liberty owners aren’t going to take potshots at Marathons, or that Country Coach owners aren’t going to try to insult Liberty owners. It’s what we do.

Diane, we will not be going to the Prouds rally in Nashville. Sorry.

Re: The different groups and their possible participation in any event..

There are many men in this organization far more financially successful than I would ever even pretend to be but having served on twenty-five corporate boards and over fifteen charitable board organizations…. I know one thing…..For any diversified project to succeed, the building of a consensus is essential and in general it is not that hard if all concerned feel they are truly a part of the process. Everybody reading this knows this to be true…. and I am certain many can add greatly to the thought.

With that said, what if five Prevost ownership groups were selected and representatives from each group asked to participate in a conference call with the objective of determining their group’s level of interest in a national PREVOST get together. To avoid any analysis of who is the primary sponsor of the event, an internal committee could be formed made up of PC representatives who are themselves, members of the individual groups to be invited… (one from Prevost Proud, POG, Texas Prevost, etc.) That committee, once informed as to the appropriate persons to be contacted, would extend the invitations to the representatives to be included in the call…..you would take it from there.

It is my feeling that a lot of the conversation regarding other organizations is overdone and I would be willing to work to solve any wounds that might continue to be hanging around that might initially surface…particularly with one group that is consistently mentioned… but, in reality, I do not expect them….We are all our own persons and I really don’t think many of us have the time to spend on past issues…. whatever they were…. and I believe with the exception of a couple of folks, everyone feels the same way….at least that is my position. If this idea takes root, the organizational “memebrship lines” will be crossed very quickly, from my view. I believe you have a great idea that will require a lot of work…. a lot of team work!

Further, it would be my thought that if the rally gets in gear, the sponsors will follow the potential business… they won’t have to be asked…

I hope my comments will be accepted in the spirit with which they are given…

You may be on to something here. I know you are well respected on POG. We have several Prevost Prouds members who may have some degree of influence and are certainly well respected. Is it possible for those who have an affiliation with some of the other clubs or organizations to wave your hand and volunteer to see if what Pres suggested can be done?

Pres is spot on and along the lines I intimated to when the subject of a mega rally was first raised. ie. being fully inclusive and keeping names and (potential) ego’s out of it. Regardless of whose idea it is and even who the main organisers are, it his needs to be pushed as a Prevost-user event rather than under any one club or organization. Just wish I was a bit closer to be able to be a bit more hands-on at this stage. Would love to get round a table with whoever to thrash something out. Here’s hoping someone can step up to the plate for this first step.

What I have got though, is a whole bunch of ideas to make such an event one to remember and one that people will want to repeat in years to come. I hope we can get into a position that they can be considered. (Together with many others’ ideas as well) Back when I was into Land Rovering, the ‘Nationals’ were on every enthusiasts to-do list and represented everything that was good about the marque and the club members. I’m sure there are many other clubs in the US that come together to organise a ‘national’ event. So why not the Prevost clubs?

The enthusiasm of this group is contagious and very encouraging. Most Prevost owners would relish the opportunity to attend such an event.

Would it be possible when this brainstorming meeting does eventuate for someone to photograph the return of Knight Andrew to the Round Table?
