A/C systems on our coaches are going to have the potential to be expensive because of environmental regulations.

A shop working on those systems is not going to do some things the way an owner with some gauges and a bottle of 134A will. If an owner with a little knowledge has a small leak in a 134 system it might make more sense to add several pounds of 134 each season, and it may even cost less than the fuel to get the bus to a repair station.

But a shop cannot knowingly release refrigerant to the atmosphere so it is likely obligated if asked to add freon to a system, to evacuate it, recover the freon, find the leak and repair it before recharging with freon. If the problem is in aging hoses intended for R12 freon, and the system has been changed over to 134, the cost of replacing the hoses can be in the thousands, instead of $50 for 134 and an hour’s labor.

Thanks Guys. A call to (Kevin who is the Motorhome/Coach Guru) Prevost Fort Worth and He told me exactly where they were. Back bay, which is my water/tank bay and tucked up on ceiling. Had to pull a panel. Never would have seen them there. Old age and blind, didn’t want to say deaf and dumb. Left push botton breaker popped a little when I pushed it but gonna replace everything inside box and try again. Thanks for all the help guys.
