Noooooooooooo! Please don’t raise my dues! It was an innocent mistake by an old guy with a bad memory.

Here’s a photo of the special tool that I numbered: XX4NNCTS98745 if you don’t want to make one yourself, perhaps you can find one on Amazon using that part number.

    Griz:

I tried to order one of those tools from Amazon using the number you supplied and pictured was a warning on the can. I believe you missed it and may have endangered yourself.

It states: WARNING, not to be utilized on Marathon or Royale coaches. Designed for Vantare, Country Coach, and Liberty coaches ONLY. With the word ONLY being underlined.

Wow. You were lucky to have escaped with your life.

Techlon designed the system for switching in my vintage coach 1998 Marathon. Not sure when Marathon stopped using this product but if your coach has any of the modules listed on this site you can buy them here. On the site click on products. http://www.techlon.com

I saw this ceiling light ring remover at Marathon shop. Built at the time to safely remove light ring replacing burnt out bulbs. Soft sponge provides a cushion so you can feel ring lock catch clear notch.

Working on LED change over… 50 plus lights I saw Grizz’s rattle can tool.

That reminded me of that Marathon tool, so I made one.

Shelf liner pad glued to plyword with Elmers. Let it sit overnight.

3 inch ring glued and screwed to small piece of 2X4.

I see your expensive tool requires using a screwdriver.

Could you wait a minute before using while we’all get out of the way ?

Sheesh BA, you can’t lightly turn a screw driver, snug the ring and then mumble lefty loosey…

After seeing Al’s tool above, I bought a 4″ chair leg, took the screw out, and glued on a piece of the non-slip stuff on the end. Works like a charm!

    Stretch –

Are you talking to me about the John Henry? He lives right down the street from us and we are good friends. He also owns a mid 80s Marathon coach.

Another trick I found to installing those LED’s is to take some wire cutters, and snip off between an 1/8″-3/16″ of the ends of the 2 wire connectors. It makes it much easier to get the LED’s up in and into the sockets.
