I got mine from Marathon… if yours is anything like mine you will find a few that dang near won’t come off… I am happy to send you the little tool they made for me but you could probably make one faster that I can get it to you…

Not sure if it applies to your Marathon.. but they updated the chips in the techlink dimmer modules to change how the lights powered up… apparently the older halogens got a higher initial voltage and then reduced after power up that the LEDs don’t care for…

Also, marathon recomended not changing out the shower light for LED…

we have these. You’ll find some sticking, as indicated by Bill, because the halogen has gotten so hot that it melts the ring to the material in the bus!

In my coach they are gold color but otherwise are the same. I had a broken trim ring, last time at marathon i asked for the ring but they would only sell the whole fixture. The packaging said Hafele, i have not checked with them to see if i can just get the trim ring, but they are a vendor that we use on a regular basis. If you look at hafele.com/us you can view their catalog online and maybe find them. I will be back in the office on monday and will see if i can find out.

Did you find dimmible led bulbs that will work correctly with the techlink? If so could you please share the source, i want to change out all of mine.

This is the Led Marathon uses, they want $260 a piece. On line they are about $160. Marathon will sell you just the rings driver but don’t have Gold,just chrome, you can’t tell the difference.

swapping out just the bulbs for LEDs, they will not dim properly. Have to wire new dimmers in.

They do dim with no problem. I got the bulbs from Diane, not sure of her source, but she will jump in here. I put them in single positions first like the entry door and they dim OK. So not sure if the LED’s are dimable or I just got lucky with the Techlink dimming function.

There seems to be a huge variance in LED pricing across the web, so far as I can tell, the cheaper ones seem to be just a good as the more expensive ones.

Tom I bought these light from Ebay they work great and dim as will they are PWM type. Use a number 40 hose clamp and add black electric tape on the edge of the clamp to remove and install the light trim bezel. Good luck

That’s right driver, that’s only for the bulb. What did you think, they were giving it away. HA.

Some of the leds you buy will flicker when first started and then you need to put the chip in. Sid and me bought a discontinued bulb that is rectangular and dims and doesn’t have the initial bright flash when pushed so we don’t need the chip.

To get some of mine off I bought a small oil filter wrench that was plastic and had a rubber strap to put around the filter. Works real good and doesn’t scratch anything.

The LEDs I bought on eBay do not flicker at all and work well, but even tho they are warm white I am not really happy with the color and light they put off, may have to try these other ones.

Getting back on track…. I have struck out finding just the rings and will give Marathon a call on Monday. Bying the entire lights assembly is no problem, but makes no sense. The light assembly is Hafele 823.93.230.

Tom, Marathon sold me the rings only. I don’t know why some guys could not get just the rings and had to buy the whole fixture.
