OK, Jon, maybe we need more automation. I just received this from an acquaintance (was gonna say friend, but we all know I have no friends)
Holiday Safety
Feel free to spread this warning to your friends
Please, take care of yourself out on the roads this holiday season
A recent joint study conducted by the Department of Health and the
Department of Motor Vehicles indicates that 23% of traffic accidents are alcohol relatedThis means that the remaining 77% are caused by a$$holes who drink bottled water, use cell phones while driving, drink Starbucks, soda, juice, energy drinks, and the like
Therefore, beware of those who do not drink alcohol. They cause three times as many accidents
This message is sent to you by Jon as someone who worries about your safety

WoW Fred that’s quite a post,,,
I’m reminded of a time in church when the preacher said “the three main contributors to divorce is money, understanding and intimacy”! My wife leans over and says “We’re ok then, we don’t have any of those”…
Don’t you hate when that happens?

Harry, keep that great sense of humor. It keeps us young. They say laughter is the best medicine and with you around, none of us will ever need a doctor.
Happy New Year to you and keep that bus rolling, you are just starting a great adventure in a Prevost.

Self driving cars. Who u gonna sue n an accident ? IMOA any vehicle manufactured since @ 2000 is pure trouble due to computers, upgrades and overall quality. A friends 2017 Lexus warranty was to be cancelled by dealer if computer updgrades weren`t completed. He just went n for stinkin oil change!
One thing about hybrids and smart cars, u already own your casket !

Hmmm? Anyone notice the brand of truck used in this video?

I can see it now. The conversion company’s will be integrating this into their Crestron,Lutron Amx systems that way you can lay on the couch, Hang out in the Crapper or anything else but set behind the wheel. Their big selling point will be.
(When you crash you will be the first one there.)

The sarcastic term describing some of today’s drivers as “steering wheel holders” has come true.
Now the morons can spend their entire day playing with their smart phones.

Jon, I have the perfect answer to this automated driving, you need to hire me to drive your bus and your corvette and you can just lay on the couch and watch TV or engage in conversation with your lovely wife, Di, while I take care of all the automated driving functions, Lane Departure, Rear Crash Avoidance, Side Collision Warning, Drive Through Dinning and etc, etc.
I don’t require electricity, have computer chips or diodes and almost no memory and don’t need a computer to do my updates with, they can be verbal.
An occasional Dunkin Donuts or Captain D’s tea would be nice, would not want me to run out of gas while at the wheel, your automation would quit.

On the surface that sounds like a good idea, but there is a little voice in my head that is suggesting there might be a flaw in the plan.
If I am laying on the sofa, I think when I give the finger to some of the “drivers” they might not see it. That could be a problem.

This was gleaned from Twitter by an acquaintance of mine:
From Twitter: “When self-driving cars become mainstream, dead old people will occasionally just arrive places.” Morbid humor aside, will it really help traffic when cars are programmed to take laps around city blocks rather than look, and pay, for parking?
