To everyone interested in the Catherine’s Landing event:

We had a great time and got to know wonderful folks….

For those unable to attend, on Wednesday morning, those who had arrived the day before all gathered at the English Muffin for breakfast and thereafter, after helping the other attendees arrive during the day, …. we had an evening Margarita based pot-luck buffet that was unbelieveable even though a great “team effort” moved it to Jeff and Jackie’s coach about 15 minutes before we began… the light rain came and seemed to make it even more special ….thanks to Prevost Community for supplying the opening night “libations” and for the Margarita glasses each attendee received as a momento of the rally…. the laughter punctuated by the Finks from California and the wonderful commentaries of the Byrds … all added to the evening… Mark and Craig added to the conversations… and their coach is super….

The next day (Thursday) was a day for fishing (the Pres and Missus went after the Florida Stripers), another visit to the English Muffin by the entire group, visiting with each other and touring the downtown “mineral hot bath” areas and all of the surrounding hill sides… the “Kayaking crews” got started and the discussion groups went on all day… (who knew that a Challenger Jet climbs at 7000 feet per minute… ask Mark…) and if you ever watch “Outlaws” street racing on TV… Randy is one of them from Ft Worth and has competed in these events… the evening meal at the Bleu Monkey Grill was superb and a “mystery host” appeared and treated the entire group to the dinner…. what a great, charitable and caring couple …….and it topped off a great evening….

Friday saw additional Kayaking, breakfast at the Pancake House downtown, all kinds of discussions, fishing by Jo and Penny (five big 10 to 12 pound Stripers), visits to the Garvin Gardens, luncheon at Whiskers (ribs and po’ boys), ….. topped off by all of the attendees having an outdoor setting out over the water for dinner at the Fisherman’s Wharf… doesn’t get better than that… and someone brought Red Velvet cake and Blue Bell Ice Cream donated by “contented cows” to the after hours get together at Jeff and Jackie’s coach…..

Saturday, after a brief rain fall over night, all of the events continued including an afternoon two hour boat ride for all attendees interested …and narrated by the local Little Rock “docent” …all donated by the Iowa contengency…. and even though the Pres had “brung his grillin’ pit”, Catherine’s Landing had refurburbished their two pits so we “set-up” under their open awning area and used their pits for everyone to cook their own steaks… and everybody did them differently… it was a hoot to see… and Gail kept a serious interest all evening… ….. the pot-luck dinner was again unbelieveable and the camaraderie endearing… topped off by Peach Cobbler cooked over the fire prepared using Jennie’s family recipe … a group picture was taken orchestrated by Martha and Roy taken by a “passer-by” who, himself, should have his own comedy show… seriously… he was really, really funny…

And so it was that the next morning, Fred and Helen prepared a wonderful breakfast meal for all departing attendees as we said our good-byes….

The group could not have been better matched… and everyone contributed in some way…

Just wanted to say that the Hot Springs rally was a HUGE succsess. Pres and Betty were the best Rally Masters

you could have asked for… they were nothing short of amazing. It was such a good time had by all. It was good to

see old friends and meet a lot of new ones. It may have been a small group ( 11 coaches ) but it was the best group

ever. It gave everyone the opportunity to really get to know each other. Iv’e never seen a group gel this well.

Jackie and I enjoyed hosting everyone at our coach each night after dinner. We also liked showing off our beautiful

state to all the folks that wanted to learn a little hisory and see some beautiful sights.Thanks again to everyone

for some great fellowship with PC members.

Cathrine’s Landing No Rally – Rally

The non rally rally went super well because everyone pitched in and contributed to the success. The park is very nice and if you go there, get a site on the river…

We had some inclimate weather that we worked around but the group could not have been better. With 11 / 12 coaches, everyone got a great chance to meet everyone else and spend quality time…

We did a couple of things that were out of the ordinary like a group “cook out” on large grilling pits…everyone did their own thing and cooked their own dinner with everyone else… and we had a great boat ride in the Lake that was really memorable… great beautiful terrain and a super docent…

Caught some HUGE fish…

The evenings were highlighted after-meals with conversations, cake and ice cream donated by “contented cows” from Brenham, Texas…

Betty is in the process of making a book of the event…

We really wanted to go, but we had the flu and had to stay home. I am very glad you had a great rally and we wish we could have made it. I look forward to your next rally.
