It is 513 miles from Foley of beautiful country especially through the Jackson,MS / Greenville, MS areas …and up through PIne Bluff Arkansas into the Hot Springs area. I don’t know if you have ever heard of “DOE’s Eat Place” but the original is in Greenville, MS and was started by a lovely black lady ….and the restaurant was in her old house. She was the originator of a menu that sold steaks (but all steaks were at least 2 pounds… no sharing… mostly Porter House steaks cooked in a pan…) and she was and remains totally famous for her “home made” tamales. She used to pack them in big Folger’s coffee cans…
I been there …and done that !!! ….and would do it again!!!
Now, if that doesn’t get your curiosity up… I don’t know what will…
Hope you can come to the non rally rally as soon as we figure out the proposed dates…

I will have a date for the proposed non-rally rally by tomorrow…
It looks like we are being directed to availability beginning between the dates of Monday May 15th or as late as the 17 th — and a planned ending Sunday the May 21st… The first week in May, the RV park is fully booked by an RV dealership. I favor a date like the arrival on the 16th or 17th and departure on the 21 st.
May 14 th is Mother’s Day with heavy reservations in front of that… and Memorial Day week end begins the 26th of the month…
I will confirm tomorrow. and we will see how this fits with everyone…
If it seems to work, I will “try” to make a run up there this coming week around Thursday or Friday and cover the details with the park and do some research for ideas….
That sounded so authoritative…. particularly since your humble servant does not know what the “details” are supposed to be….. actually, I depend on everyone to help determine what they want the “details” to be…

At present, the dates of May 17 th through the 21 st seem to work well for the R V park. At this time, we can reserve the 20 back in river sites …which are excellent…. The park is not crowded as of today but will probably begin to fill in as the year progresses.
This past year’s weather ranged in the 54 to 80 degree pattern for each day of this date range…
Apparrently, the crush begins on the Memorial Day week-end and endures for the summer…
How does this date range sound for starters?
If it sounds ok, I will reserve the dates as best I can…
