Jon, I just lubed before leaving on this trip, even though I had also lubed in late Feb when I changed the oil and tranny fluid. Since I had it up on the ramps anyway I decided to lube it again. It seems to move freely once I backed off the adjustment but something caused it to lock with the pads against the drum.
I assume I should do both sides of the axel when it gets replaced? I have the manual adjustment – Rockwell I think. Should I consider anything other than a direct replacement?
Thanks again for taking the call. Saved me a service call as I was thinking the relay valve not letting the air pressure off. Not sure I would have changed that here in the campground. But I could handle backing off the slackadjuster and pulling the yoke pin.

I feel my tires. Sounds silly, but visually a tire can look like it is wearing OK, but your hands are very sensitive to even the slightest unusual wear. The left front tire had a barely detectable unusual feel to it compared to the RH side so that was why I had the alignment done. It was on the side where I had replaced the tie rod. I measured as precisely as possible to get the exact same length, but that was likely the cause of the wear.
The price of today’s tires makes an alignment a bargain.

We are at Bella Terra on site 604 waiting on the rest of the crowd to show up. Two pieces of info that might help you.
1. The local Loves is at exit 44 on I-10 and price on the pump late Friday was $2.54.
2. There is a much easier way to get to Bella Terra now. Take new EXIT 49 from I-10. This exit will most likely not be listed on your GPS or paper maps, it is brand new.
From I-10, take Exit 49 (Baldwin Beach Exp/ Gulf Shores/ Orange Beach), continue south approximately 13 miles before turning left at the 3rd red light to continue south on the Foley Beach Exp. You’ll follow it another 8 miles south before turning right onto Brinks Willis Road. Bella Terra is ¼ mile east of the Expressway off Brinks Willis Road.
This route is MUCH faster then using Exit 44 and Hwy 59.
