There are a number of bars withing walking distance of Lambeau. Stadium View, “the Bar”, and Andruzzies are have large parking lots. If it is is not a game day they might let you park in one of their lots for a small fee or just to get your business. West of the Stadium is a huge and I mean huge area designed for future Packer commercial development. They might let you park there for a couple of days. Call the Packers public relations department 920.569.7201 and ask them is you can part in the area west of the stadium.

I hope one of these suggesions might work out.

There is a rv park at the Onieda Casino, very near the stadium. More people tour the green bay hall of fame than the NFL hall of fame yearly!

The information on the Oneida Casino is correct but it is not within walking distance to Lambeau. You did not say if you had a car to get there. If you are comfortable with boondocking you are welcome to stay in my parking lot in Green Bay, no too far from the Lambeau you do need a car to get there. The parking lot is gravel, big and safe, and walking distance to Walmart. Let me now if I can be of assistance, the price is right, free.

There is a new Cabela’s at the intersection of Lombardi Avenue and US41 (now apparently I-41). I don’t know if they permit overnight parking, but I would recommend checking with them.

It sits between Manitowoc and Two Rivers right across the street from Lake Michigan. The RV park adjacent to the motel is small. The sites are small, but we had llittle trouble getting our 45 footer in and out. They have small decorative posts that pull out of the ground that helped getting in and out. I’ve posted a review to the PC map.

Another option is Door County Wisconsin. Potawatomi State part just south of Sturgeon Bay (haven’t been there in 50 years) or the #1 state park in Wisconsin Penninsula State Park at Fish Creek further up the penninsula. Check with the offices for either park about big rigs. My sister just retired after 37 years of service at Penninsula Park and she said they had sites for big rigs, but we haven’t been there yet. Door County is one of the top tourist destinations in the Midwest. Lots to see, lots to do.

Where are you coming from? If you’re coming from the east or south, consider taking the SS Badger across Lake Michigan from Ludington (MI) to Manitowoc (WI). Last coal fired, steam powered freighter on the Great Lakes. We haven’t taken it yet, but advertises it will hold large vehicles. It was originally built to carry train cars across the lake, so I’m sure its pretty well built.

Born and raised in Shawano as were my parents. Still own a home in Shawano on the Wolf River. Toying with developing a “nice” RV park along the channel between the river and Shawano Lake, but the season might be too short to make the economics work.

I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, and I don’t own an RV park but the cost to develop sites is the same whether you can do business all year long or whether you have a short season. So that leaves you with the decision about having high rates to reflect the short season, or a much longer return on the investment.

Then there is the fact as a 24/7 business someone has to mind the store and keep the trains running on time.

We’ll come visit if you create it, but give it a whole lot of thought before you tackle that project.

Before you build that RV park, give me a call, or send me an email and lets discuss. I had a 154 site park and what Jon says about the 24/7 personnel is just the very small tip of that iceberg. I can tell you all of the GREAT reasons to have one and I can tell you all of the reasons to NOT do it. I can also enlighten all of the ways that RVers will take advantage of your generosity, (i.e. electrical use) Your decision, but at least you will walk in with your eyes wide open. Would I do it again? Probably not. (mostly because of government regulations) Did I enjoy it while doing it?..absolutely. (except for trying to comply with all of the city, county, state and Federal regulations that were in conflict with each other.)

If you do it, I can guarantee you that I will visit, just make sure that the 45 footers can get in easily.

We stayed at Village in On the Lake in June as part of our 4 month trip around the country. Had Lake Michigan in the windshield and really enjoyed the area. We also drove to Lambeau for the tour as it was only about 30 minutes or so away. We also sat on the Manitowoc lighthouse and watched the SS Badger come and then later go out. It is a big ferry!

Thanks for the advice. The operative word is “toying”. I’ve thought about many of the reasons you’ve suggested that I think twice about doing it. The #1 problem I see with NE Wisconsin is the length of the season, very late April through extemely early October … shorter if the weather doesn’t cooperate. Even a good ad on the PC web site won’t help fill the RV sites during the snowmobiling season!

Having Packer season tickets (Green Bay/Green package) I’ve been to many games at Lambeau. I should probably take the tour.

Thanks for all the input. We ended up staying at a place called Scheffel’s Hideaway Campground in Two Rivers. They have about a dozen 50 amp FHU sites in their 50 site park that would easily accomodate a Prevost. The CG is adjacent to Point Beach State park with excellent hiking and biking trails. The drive to Lambeau field was about 40 minutes – the tour was a blast! Will add it to the map.

Thanks for visiting Wisconsin and spending your money with us. I’ve heard the Lambeau Field tour is well worth the effort, time, and expense. As a “local” we often don’t appreciate what we have right down the street!
