<p>They have 2 struts. Standard and heavy, the heavy is for doors with chairs or such on the back side. The regular is for doors with no storage on the backside.</p>

You can use a hose rated for suction. It will probably still have 1 wire in it to keep it from collapsing, but is a lot more flexible</p>
