  • Power steering hose?

Posted by Art on June 5, 2025 at 8:43 am

I’ve had some leakage from the power steering hose that comes from the Reservoir to the power steering pump, When I first got the bus the hose from Reservoir was a fairly hard hose with wire in it, the fitting on reservoir was not a barb fitting so it seeped out and made a mess, About 6 years ago I replaced the hose and the fitting at reservoir with barb fitting and replaced the hose with the same style hose, stiff with wire in it, Just recently the same hose at pump was leaking a little bit enough to make a mess, The clamp got loose over the years, tightened it up seems fine. Is the hose to rigid and there is no pressure in that side of pump is that correct, Those rigid hoses are harder to seal then a soft hose??? You can see the the hose I’m talking about with red stripe

That is a hi pressure hose. You can use a hose rated for suction. It will probably still have 1 wire in it to keep it from collapsing, but is a lot more flexible
