3 hours to change an XL windshield????????

I don’t think so. People who have never changed a windshield before have changed them at rallies in 45 minutes at the most.

A person with experience is going to do it in under 30 minutes, and that includes the time to get the ladder, soapy water and the tools.

I just had my refrigerator replaced. The RV repair shop had to remove the front windshield. They called and asked if I wanted the drivers side replaced since it has a crack. Their quote was $1,200, so I declined.

I called Prevost Hayward service center for a quote, and they came back at $7500, which I thought was a good price compared to the RV shop. After reading this thread, it sounds like I need to do a little more shopping around.

Jerry: Find out what Prevost wants for a windshield, ship to your house. I had that done when a local RV shop replaced our refrigerator. I thought it was pretty reasonable back five years ago or so. The RV shop hired a local auto glass guy come to come to their shop and removed the windshield (which broke as we expected) and then come back and put the new one in. I didn’t think it very expensive. If I can find the invoices, I’ll post the actual numbers.

Prevost parts runs them on special on occasion. I paid 420$ delivered in wood crate.. for 2 local glass shop charge was $150 for service call to install. Bob Ps they consider them a routine expenditure and help the owner out on this item.
