OK. Once I get a bulb, I see how that’ll work. Thanks for finding the bulb for me.
I only have Macs, iPhones, and iPads. I even have a Mac Mini with a big hard drive in the bus to store shows to watch in case we have no signal, TV, or cable (we chose not to get satellite) and an Apple TV. The new one.
I think to forum app developed an error in the photo database and is now referencing the wrong photo. It makes me want to have a shrimp dinner too.

You’re not alone Tom! I have around 8 macs, 10 iPads, 7 Apple TVs, an Apple Watch, 5 iPods, and 3 iPhones just in the immediate family!

My docking lights use the H3 style bulb posted by Al above. But I lost the retaining clip to one and have tried in vain to find a part number for that wire clip. They don’t work well without a ground!
Anyone know a part number or how to get one?

Tom: you are not alone. All we use are Apple products too. 5 Macs total between us, 4 iPads, and a couple of iPhones.

Sounds like the fix shows the problem was Windoze caused…..

Here is a pic of one of my fixtures. No screws. It appears that I need to somehow remove the silver ring in order to get to the bulb. It doesn’t screw off, I’ve tried several. Any suggestions? -
Is that one of those lights like in our coach that you pull down on with quite a bit of force, slowly pull it out, and then when it suddenly (without ANY warning whatsoever) comes loose you painfully discover that its held in place by two large mouse traps with humungous springs that just about severe the tips of your fingers?
Or are yours different?
We’re all wondering.

Those look just just like mine. This is how you get them off. First – they don’t pull like the other person said – well, I should say mine don’t. It’s possible they just look the same. This is how mine came off. And, the unscrewing was super hard to do.
Anyway, what at you do is lick your fingers and get them sticky. Then you push up on that ring and unscrew it – about an 1/8th of a turn at most. Then they will come off. These next pics will show you what’s up. There are 3 VERY small tabs that lock it into place. You can see the mating tab cutouts in the pic below. On the outer edge.
This is with the trim ring off. NOTE I changed the glass bulb out to LED. I had to take the heat shield out to get the led to fit. So this housing might look a bit different. They do fit if you take the heat shield out and they work great. They Dim and everything. I bought mine at OSH but I’ve seen them at lowes too. If you need to remove the whole unit – the 3 Phillips screws will get it out.

Your photos and written description are well done and make it clear to me the Liberty pull down lights and the Marathon twist lock lights are opened or serviced in two different ways. So as far as how to access bulbs on the tyoe used by Marathon owners need to understand getting some “traction” so the 1/8 turn can be accomplished is the key to those lights. Those with the lights described by Dick are a different type of fixture and will require a stright pull down from their mounted position.
But the issue you are having with the photos we will continue to work on. Our web guru said in his last response he is rewriting some code. I will alert him to your comments. It will be a big help if you can tell us the device you are using, and photo details.

Use a hose clamp to attach to the ring, then you can easily get a good grip on the ring and turn counter clockwise to remove. I did all of mine, 39 and broke 2, so you’ll have to get them from Marathon and the supply is dwindling. The little plastic tabs break.

He is continuing to work on the problem, but at least he appears to have the cause…..
Walt, can you do as Joe suggest below, and see if that cures the issue you are having? You can edit your posts or create new ones to test.
