The leaving note deal made me laugh…we actually had a woman who worked in one of our offices that had a bulletion board full of notes on how to do certain things that she always forgot. Then she started to leave a BIG note in the middle of her desk telling her to read her notes. It was pretty funny. I always wondered what would happen if somebody took all the notes down. I suspect no work would have occured that day…

Just to get this trainwreck back on the rail, my problem is the nozzle, coil good.
Thanks to Cory & George at the Parliament Rally, I’ll have the new nozzle in hand soon.

Gents I have a problem now with my webasto, unfortunatly I am not where the coach is. I have a gentleman in the Park at Raleigh called me this afternoon ” he has been checking it daily for me as I left the webasto on 59 in LR and BR” He said the area where the unit is located, over the fender wells rear I have an H said it was making a clicking sound like 10 clicks 2-3 seconds apart and then several clicks real fast. the unit should not have called for it to come on as it was 78 in the coach, I told him where to turn the unit off at the panel inside when he did this the clicking stopped. Two things I just had the unit serviced at Prevost, and it was running OK when I left temps were cold so I left it on. Second is there a place around Raleigh that has a mobile webasto service? I will be back on Wednesday to start treatments and probably will not wont to work on it myself, I appreciate any help with this matter. Gary

Are you sure it was the Webasto? If the Webasto is to cycle on and off I think the circulating pump has to run so if it is attempting to start that pump should be running. I cannot think of anything in my Webasto system that clicks.

He could be hearing the coil trying to ignite fuel, it’s more of a snapping sound than a click. Of course he should also hear the circulation pump and combustion fan running as well.
Peter found a place I think in Raleigh last summer, he’ll jump in here.

My problem is not the nozzle, new nozzle and no workie. Overtemp switches checked and good, coil checked and good, photo cell cleaned, but no fire. So, I’m suspecting the controller. Anyone have a spare 12v controller, 287-962, for checking, I sure don’t want to buy one if the problem is elsewhere? The new brains are by Spheros and the part number is SG1553/12v.
We should buy one of the Webasto test boxes and then when someone needs it, send it to them, they kick in say 50 bucks and send it back when done. Sort of like renting the test box.

I have a spare brain, but I am not sure it will work for you. As soon as I get into the garage I will get the information from it and give you a call.

He did say the power had been off at his house but did not know if it had been off in the park, I had the power loss protection on so it should not have made any difference i guess. He did say after he cut the webasto off the clicking or snapping noise stopped but he could hear something running still, Inverters? should be OK till I get back tommorow no cold temps in forcast. But if someone has a number to mobile webasto in Raleigh I would appreciate it. When I started the webasto when I got to Raleigh I noticed some white smoke when it started, and when it cycled a lot of smoke but cleared up and ran fine till I left. Gary

The place I went to is Holiday coach in Level Cross near Greenboro NC I am not sure if they work on webasto , give them a call 1-336-823-3932. I had the AC recharged, and new drivers window put in at that place.

Thanks Peter, I know of that group, have found a tech in Raleigh that says he is familiar with webasto has worked on aqua hot and hydra hot units, When I get to the bus tommorow I will see what the problem is and go from there, thanks Gary

I also would love to had a trial Brain to see if it would solve my problem. Which sounds like a Brain problem, but I am on my second Brain. Everything points to a Brain problem (will not cycle for a second run without turning the unit off and back on) but I don’t want to have to buy another new one to find out.

Tom I am in on the test box don’t want people to have trouble, you buy it , I will rent it , or I will buy it you rent it,

I just replaced the control box in mine a year ago. First replacement was bad. Second is working fine. Mine was “pretty” straight forward to diagnose but a tester would have been a big help. Hopefully I will not need one for years but how much does a tester cost?

Tom I would have sent the controller to you with Red but Red left yesterday and I was in Tampa yesterday. I am not sure how to get the box to you to try.
You may want to talk to Rick May at Parliament he may have one on hand to test with without having to buy the test unit or the controller as these controller cost about $500. to $700.
I bought one 4 years ago but found out the coil was bad so I spent $500 for the controller plus the $200. got the coil.
I would say that a test box would be worth cost in my case.
