The pictures on “The Google” look great! Whick of the campgrounds are you in and and reco on sites? Things to do in the area?
BTW, while I really enjoy the resorts in Hilton Head Island and in the Scottish Highlands of NC, the dry campsite at Schroon Lake NY (by Lake Placid) is in my top-5. When I pick a resort it is mainly to get away from the noise of kids (not that I don’t love them).

There are four or five campgrounds inside Peninsula State Park. The one that accommodates our rigs is called Tennison, and when you call them, they will give you a range of sight numbers that you can get into. I’m on number 336, but the range is something like 321 to 446, I just can’t remember.

We, also, pass sending a photo of the bus, to beg entry to a resort. That’s why you won’t see us at Bella Terra.

We’ve been to Bella Terra twice since Oct. and have never been asked to submit a photo or even the year of the bus. Prevost is good enough.

I am in petoskey right now doing a clinic came from Ann Arbor staying at petoskey motorcoach resort very nice and for 730 dollars a nite good deal its right across street from where I am doing clinic can walk to horses they never even asked age of bus just how long do you want to stay very nice place. Phone number 231-348-2400 if its a Prevost tell them it’s a 2008 or 2009 they do not know the difference

Albq NM KOA tries that crap every time. I just tell ’em that is “2009 or whatever comes to mind” and the last time he pushed it, said, “Silver Eagle, who builds that?” and I just said … “Don’t know I bought it used.”
I can see their point, but alas, they cannot see mine (it aint none of their business).
So we continue to play the game.

For some, I think it’s not about what you are asked or not asked to prove. It is more about having the rule, and as Jon said , the smell of their s$$t.

Dan and Barb: Thanks for spending your money in Wisconsin. We sincerely appreciate it. On Monday go to the main entrance/office and say “HI” to my sister Jane. She is completing her 37th year with the Wisc DNR working at Penninsula Park. I think she has two (maybe only one!) MOnday left and she retires.
If you haven’t already … Check out Washington Island, Al Johnson’s Supper Club (goats on the roof), The Gordon Lodge (Baileys Harbor), The Coyote Bar and Grill just to name a few of the sites to see in Wisconsin’s famous Door County! Jane can fill you in on other great places to visit too.

Dick, we arrived 7/7 and unfortunately are departing on 7/10, but congratulations to Jane on her retirement. Having worked in this environment, I’ll bet she is in good health.
We have been coming up here for some time, just never stayed at Peninsula before, and have been/ done the things you listed. When we ferried the jeep over to Washington Island, I asked the captain if he could take the bus. He said sure, they have a capacity of 350 tons.

while I wasn’t going to bring it up, here this thread. This past April while exploring possibilities of the No Rally rally, BellaTerra took all our Rez information, then said, “we would need to send a photo of the bus for admission”, I told the gal, our RV was a Prevost during the conversation, which she asked model year, I said 1992.” This nice lady informed me because lots were “owned” by residence there was a “10 year old max coach rule”, and to gain entry permission, we must submit a photo. I told her in our travels, while being asked coach age of our Prevost, while routine, we had only encountered, you must submit a photo, one other time-Rancho California, Temecula Ca formerly Outdoor Resorts-Temecula , and we drove on. If our coach isn’t good enough for an RV Park, neither is our money. Yet when you say “airstream” another readily identified RV to a rv park office, response is come on in, doesn’t matter year. So I don’t get it, ? Prevosts cost more to operate than an Airstream, why the discrimination ?

It is unfortunately, “their circus and those are not your monkeys.” (I don’t care for it and I will not tolerate it.) People will treat you in the manner in which YOU ALLOW them too. In the end, the dollar will win out. They need ME more than I need them, I can live without them, but they cannot survive without people like us (bus owner, RV etc, etc).
When I made inquiries about paking overnight, the guy at Cracker Barrel in Flagstaff told me “no overnight parking in town anywhere.” NEW RULE. I smiled and said, “listen, I am not telling anyone if you aint, we wanted to be here for breakfast in the morning.” He thought about it for a brief moment and said, “See you in the morning.”

We were thinking of driving over to Newport Beach for a week to get out of the desert heat.
Called Newport Dunes RV resort as we have stayed there at least 5 or 6 times (apparently not in the summer!). The rate (summer rate) was $357 per day….. Really! I’m sure we could stay at the Ritz Carlton for that! LOL!
I told them no. That is ridiculous. I’m remembering the most that we paid a few years ago was $159 a night for a ‘back bay’ front row site. $357 a day? Crazy. Our 7 day stay would have been $2,500.And, I don’t think there was entertainment included from the Lennon Sisters.
