Toad Tow Bars ?

Trailers have their place. I have one and I will use it to get the Model A to the Lakeland Auction in Feb. There is no way that car can be a toad, and as a Phaeton it needs to be protected from weather.
But while trailers do resolve some issues I think it is safe to say some who pull trailers are exceeding the tongue weight and possibly the total weight restrictions. A toad will never exceed tongue weight restrictions.
A trailer makes some situations doable. You cannot back up with a toad. With a trailer you have no problem backing up.
If you have bulky stuff to carry such as lawn chairs or bundles of dues money a trailer is a huge benefit. The downside is a trailer is something else to wash, to buy tires for, and to store somewhere.
Maybe young, skinny people are OK with it, but to describe lashing down a car and getting in and out of one inside a trailer as simple is stretching it. A trailer is as inconvenient as a tow dolly compared to hitching up a toad. But towing 4 wheels down does add miles and wear and tear to a toad.

I got a lot of heat from folks who thought I should have trailered my Ford, but it is the easiest towing car we have and is really quick to hitch and unhitch.

P with a red circle and slash through it?In New Mexico a LEO is allowed to issue a citation up to a
year after the infraction if proof of the infraction exists. Are there any LEOs out there that need their
dues reduced? I think the photo could be
used as proof and Jon has only had that toad for a year. -

For us Brits, it’s a fair trek, but to you big country boys, it’s a bit like popping out to the shops. A ‘mere” 200 miles or so.
If you look at a map of the UK, (ignoring Ireland) we are about half way up on the west coast. Cardiff is on the south coast of the bit that sticks out (Wales) again on the west side.

Blue Ox make several different tow bars. The most common ones seem to have the “knuckle”. The newest one is the one we have and it does not have the knuckle. I added a folder with photos the other day. I attached two so you can see where it broke. These pieces should be intact. If you search the internet for the Avail tow bar you will see the bar that fits into the receiver in your hitch has a piece of steel welded on either side of that bar. That is where ours broke. I should have more info later this week when I get the new tow bar.
