Yes, but you have company, I’ve been caught on film twice and both times it was Nancy’s fault.
-
Poor Nancy. She is hard working and loyal and will sometimes even pretend she does not want slides, and then she gets blamed for tire problems.
We got your back Nancy. If you want any help picking out the perfect slide coach I am here to help.
-
In regard to the toad vehicle comments. Just as we check the tire pressures on the coach, while you have the pressure gauge in hand how about the air pressure in your toad tires? You checkem or not. You should check them as well as their tread depth.
As for removing a fuse to keep the factory toad brake lights from coming on, remember when unhooking the toad the fuse has to be placed back where you removed it from. Oh you don’t remember the safe place you stored it while in transit. Use a zip lock Snack size baggie and put it in the glove box or storage compartment under the center arm rest. I know what can happen when one forgets to replace it. I was in Nashville on a trip and forgot to replace the fuse from where I had pulled it. I was stopped by a Nashville officer and he told me my tail lights were out. That’s when the fuse popped back into mind. I retrieved it, reinstalled it, and the nice office did not write me a citation. Someone could have rear ended me and it would have been my fault.
So you might want to add those two items to your pre-trip inspection. After all, your toad is going on the trip with you, right?
-
I would even go as far as to say put the fuse/fuse baggie somewhere in the your line of sight when you get back behind the wheel. Even tape it to the steering wheel.
-
Andy that’s another good suggestion. I don’t know how the tape would work out with the leather wrapped steering wheels. If there is an area without leather then I would agree the tape would work with perhaps a small amount of polishing to remove any residue left by the type adhesive.
How far away from Cardiff is Lancashire?

Sir,
I have an automatic Ram 1500 and have been told that I would have to disconnect the drive axle or have a transmission cooler installed to tow my truck.
Could you tell me how you have your truck set up.

On another web site a Blue Ox tow bar owner suffered a broken tow bar while traveling.
Posted is the response from Blue Ox. The time period of the questionable welding on assembly is 2 years ago.
If you purchased Blue Ox around 2 years ago …..maybe some phone calls are in order.
Copied the text as posted on other site with manufacture response.
Well, I got off the phone with BlueOx a few minutes ago. I asked about the design of this tow bar and if there was another option for us. BO Tech support told me this tow bar had been redesigned and the one she is replacing it with is the new design. She was surprised that we had this older design given the time frame we got it. In August of 2015, in an effort to get back on the road sooner we visited a dealer who had it in stock. He was willing to take the replacement from BO to help us get going. Apparently, they have had some issues with the design It was only introduced two years ago. Since then they have redesigned it. I asked why those of us with the older design weren’t notified…no answer. Boy oh boy!

All you Mushers having flattened tires and hookup problems and light and electric problems, us stacker guys
don’t know what that is.
What is a Blue Ox? Sounds like a cartoon character.

Uh Oh, I can sense a debate on a topic that can be as big as OTR versus roof airs.
Anybody want to moderate this one?
-
Driver …..Who woke up Mr. California ? You’ all know better to let him alone out there in the land of fruits and nuts.
But in all fairness….his rig is pretty good look’en black on black and lots of matching shinny stainless.
-
If you travel alot, trailers are a pain in the ass. I use a stacker when racing and then it’s still a pain in the ass. Geo.
-
If I was going to make one trip a year and then stay for an extended time, a trailer would make sense. We do about 12K miles a year and don’t stay put very long, so a toad is the way to go for us.
I watch these goys with stackers show up in FL to stay for the winter and then have to beg someone to move their trailer to the storage lot.
-
Yes, we know you think there a pain in the ass. A couple months ago you guys had 2 pages full of why trailers were such a pain in the ass. I’ll bet it even made some people mad the way some of you were talking but I knew you were just funnin us, right?
Over in Cresco there’s a picture of the Godfather listed as number 1 stacker hater and there’s a picture of you GEO running behind him with a roll of toilet paper in your hand. It’s really funny, you ought to see it.
