I did not get to changing the thermostat. The coolant bottle bracket mount will not fit with a drilling some new holes to place it in the exact position of the old bracket. I will get that done soon since it is not a big deal. Interesting that the old collant bottle a line running from just below the radiator cap to the bottom of the bottle, and an overflow line running from the top of the coolant bottle to the ground. The new coolant bottle a line running from the below the raditor cap to the top of bottle, and a line on the opposite side running down the side for overflow.
The belt felt a little lose so I tightened up. Made sure the collant bottle filled mid-point. Started the generator. After 25 minutes the gen set shuts off. I was watching as a swith to the left of the engine popped out and shut it down. This time as watched inside I do not see the Battery indicator charging at all, and I do not see the temperature increasing at all. Different from when this started happening.
Any ideas?

Can you get pic of the switch/breaker that tripped out?

looking into the gen set, this is to the left. Gen runs for ~25 minutes then this pop out and shuts it down.
i see no battery charging and no temp gauge increase. Oil pressure looks good. I can see and feel the fan running.

Ron, a picture would help a lot. I have never seen a Hercules conversion and I doubt if many if any of us can picture what you are describing. For any of us to help we need your help.
It sure sounds like a lazy breaker but that is only a guess.

That is the fuel shut off solenoid.
Now the key is to find out why the generator is going into automatic shutdown because all that does is open or close fuel flow. It is responding to something else.

Thanks, Jon. Any recommendation on who to take it to for a look will be appreciated.

I am completely unfamiliar with how your converter set up the safety systems on your generator. I suspect yours is set up to shut down at low oil pressure and high coolant temps. It may have a coolant level sensor, and maybe an oil temp sensor.
Before I tried to find someone willing to work on your issue I would suggest you see if you can find those sensors and see if they are normally open or normally closed. Then one at a time I would pull the connector and either jumper between terminals or keep the circuit open, doing it one sensor at a time to rule them in or out indiviually as the problem.
May I assume you do not have an actual over heating issue or low oil pressure issue? Obviously real problems will shut you down so before you by-pass or disable a sensor you do need to have ruled out real genuine problems.
You either continue to have real problems or your generator continues to be affected by sensors or devices that are “reading” problems that do not exist.

Jon,
The oil pressure gauge inside the coach shows good oil pressure. The gauges inside the coach do not show any readings for the battery or the temp. This is a recent development that the battery and temp gauages are not indicating anything.
In my original post on this I noted that the Gen was reaching 200 degrees and I was shutting it down. Gauges inside the coach for battery, oil pressure, and water temp worked fine. Now all I get is a reading from the oil pressure gauge. I did notice right before this occurred and all gauges were working that the battery gauge was fluctuating widely between 12 and 16.
I am in the process of packing for a move in the next few weeks so my mind has not been on this issue much other than I would like to get to a concert up in CLT next weekend and travel from CLT to Charleston the same weekend. I do not want to make 4 and 5 hour runs without a generator.
