Temp is spiking
I brought my Coach over to my house for a general clean up. I lef the Generator running and after about 30 minutes noticed the temp spike at 250 degrees. Coolant reserve tank is 3/4 full. I see not leaks. Radiator cap is on tight. This is the first time I have seen this happen.

My first thought was if the coolant was recently serviced there is an air bubble. Then I wondered if the fan is working, and finally and most importantly your first and biggest problem is the shut down device failed and that has to be fixed before you run the generator again.
Some generators have circuit breakers for the cooling fans so check them first. Make sure the fan(s) are running. If all is OK there check for air bubbles and if you feel that is resolved or not the issue consider a stuck thermostat.
Lastly it could be a bad water pump but that would be the last place I would look.

Started the Gen. Temp was a 160 at start up. Opened the door where the radiator is located, mid-point of the coach, on the right side. I see two big fans. 3 minutes later, spike to 250. The fans are not running. Shut it down.
Will check other suggestions. Never had a problem with this. Normally gets to 160 and stays there even after running over th road for 6 hours.

One thing that helps is if you list the converter in your signature line then information can be more specific

Had Same problem with fan not working on my kubota 15 kw genset. . Coach would shut down at about 210 degrees. Yours hitting 250 and if gauge is accurate that diesel could be hurt. Is the shut down working? If not, get that fixed for sure. Hit it with a temp gun and check to see if it’s really 250. That’s diesel cooking temps. Good luck.

I was actually watching the temp gauge becuase it had not happened before. As soon as I saw it increasing so quickly, I shut it down.
I have some things others have said to take a look at which I will do tomorrow.

You can hear and feel the fan running if you have a remote radiator set up like mine has. Mine actually have 2 fans and the tech took one out and I wish he hadn’t done it. Also make sure you don’t have a breaker popped as I have a gen fan breaker in my electric panel inside.

Called NAPA to see if they carry a thermostat that I want to replace on the Kubota V1903-EBG generator, NAPA says they have had not success cross referencing a Kubota part.
Anyone have a recommendation on where to get the thermostat. Heading to Folly Gras at Folly Beach next week. Would like to run the gen.

Another source may be Powertech generators.com . They have parts including thermostats on line and have been helpful to me on the phone.

Look in the bays for a fan breaker. Make sure it’s on. Sometimes things in bays touch it and trip it. This is Cody that was my old bus you bought

Checked the generator breaker. All good there. Checked the fan breaker. All good there. Thinking it could be the Thera thermostat. Going to pull the gen out of bay to get a look behind.

That slide panel next to the generator removes to better access the gen.
