Installed new valve and coils and yes I did install the green ground to the coils.

Tested and everything working great, again thanks for your helpful comments.

No adjustment on KGG-4232-24vdc Versa valve.

Quick follow up question

The step well cover on our liberty has an issue.

The red dots move the slide in and out;

The spool moves well and looks good.

The problem:

but I am not seeing 24v (or any voltage)

at the valves when the switch is held in either direction.

I am using the little 6 wire bus bar to check incoming voltage.

Is there a fuse or breaker that I am missing?

I may test the coils by connecting them to 24v — just to make sure that they energize and can move the valve — but that will only tell me not to replace the valves/coils.

Would thw next step to swap the switch with another similar carling switch (e.g bed lift switch)?

any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks!

Do the switches have power? Ignition key on?

My 96 Liberty 12v Classic there is suppose to be a 10 amp fuse in the converter electrical bay, wire marked AF for air floor.

That’s exactly the advice that I needed.

I will check the converter fuse bay – for some reason I thought that it

might be different due to the 24V.

Hopefully our 97 Classic is similar and I can fix it w/ a 10 amp fuse.

I am not looking forward to contorting myself over the toolbox to check fuses…but these are the things we do to keep these rigs operational.

This may be the year that I spring for those fuses that illuminate when they blow. 🙂

Or maybe I’ll have to pay Liberty for the coverter wiring diagram.

A few yrs ago I replaced all my 12v fuses with Glo-Blo type:)

quick follow up:

1. Instead of a fuse, ours has an 8 amp breaker located above the steering compartment. The wire is labeled AF.

2. It only gets power when the key is turned -which explains why I was not getting voltage at the coils.

3. In our case – one side of the air floor is not working. Next step is to swap coils to test the coils/test the valve.

Hopefully we can replace a valve and/ or a coil and get the air step back in service.
