with just a straight drop china toilet why due you have to have electricity?

The Microphor has a hopper and is not like the plastic toilets that open and direct drop into the tank.

Tom I will have to look at one to see what what you are talking about by hopper. I have a sealand china toilet that drops straight down.

Greg, you can Google Microphor LF220 and find some good websites with illustrated explainations including the hopper.

Go to this website and click the PDF link to the all DC Electric Toilets.
It will open a PDF file that show all the parts and the part numbers for the LF220.
Look at page 4 and in the drawing it is item # i.
Thats the hopper that bolts to the bottom of the toilet and then you set it over the hole in the floor, try no to mess with the hopper, they are very hard to reinstall and not leak.
I had to finally just silicone mine to get it to stop leaking, the guys at the factory told me that was tdhe easy thing to do.
