I think on a scale of 1 to 10 Tom’s site was a minus 5. Electric was a hit and miss affair and four of us were at the end of the line with Tom being furthest from the box. The good news is it did not rain because all of our front wheels were in the lowest point and if it rained we would have been swimming to get to our front doors.
I hope next year spaces get assigned based on a registration date or something that at least provides a chance to be level and with reliable electric. It wouldn’t hurt to be closer either. I think we were as far away from the show site as possible. In fact I believe we were in a different time zone.

Where else can you have the sewer hook up placed under your engine, mass quantities of dog shit in the grass…
Tom, don’t feel bad. Doreen stepped in some dog poop too. I’m guessing that you weren’t wearing open toed shoes like she was!
And, i have to ask, if the sewer connection was below your engine, couldn’t you have moved the bus forward a bit? Or, would that have messed up that wood thing?
(Okay, I’m ducking for cover. I seem to be doing that a lot these days!).

Another down side of the parking was the $65 per night to DRY CAMP, especially for the vendors who were paying extra to have a booth at the show. Then the poor people who were parked on the East side probably thought they were at Cape Canaveral since their rear tires, in the grass, were about 2 feet below the fronts which were on the pavement. Even Tom’s boards would not have helped them.
Other than that, it was a real good show and a good time.

Like others, I had my rear tires on the dirt and my front tires on the pavement. But looking at the big picture, we were at a a fairground and not a park that’s designed for large motorhomes. It was nice being able to walk to and from the show. Yes, this is a trade-off, but I felt it was convenient being so close to the show.
I do my share of dry camping and while my site was not perfectly level, if it was uncomfortable, there was the option of moving to the parking lot.

Andy, you say you do your share of dry camping, BUT, while you came in after we did, you were plugged in, had water and sewer, while we paid $65 and sat in the parking lot and ran our generators and used our water and tanks. I never said anything about being in a RV park. I simply stated FACT. The FACT is, YOU were parked on a very level area while others were not. Therefore, YOU have no complaint. The old saying, “Walk a mile in his shoes” applies here. You were wearing fuzzy house slippers (parked on the level with utilities), while others were wearing combat boots (parked looking at the moon, extremely low power, having to run generators, etc.).

With all due respect, you mentioned that I was located in a level area and others were not. Allow me to state that I made arrangements with the organizer in advance to arrive a day early (Sunday) and entered at a pre-designated time. I was allowed to do this to be on site to get footage of the show during setup.
You stated you arrived before I did and were placed in a not as desirable location. I’ll ask if you made arrangements to arrive early?

We did advise we would arrive early because the information sent to exhibitors indicated we should arrive Monday.
