We are hearing the same, from a friend out visiting family in Driggs.

“The town is gearing up for the solar eclipse, campsites are going for
$2500 a night and motel rooms are $ 1400 a night. Sure hope you have your
reservations. The Teton Valley has about 5000 residents normally and they
expect that to swell to 50000 during the eclipse. This town will be swamped
    ”

    Safe Travels

. Our fee money will be going directly to the high school. I guess setting this up last year got us a good deal.

I hope no one is being negatively influenced about attending by the stories of exorbitant prices. I booked Teton Valley RV Park yesterday for $650 per night full hookups on the way to Driggs, 15 miles from Jackson Hole.

This will be a fun event. C Bus already has Eclipse glasses for everyone and our site is excellent and low low cost.

Anyone interested in being under complete eclipse darkness for 2 minutes and 18 sec with Teton mountains in our backdrop, signup now. Total of 22 coaches at Teton high School student parking lot for $10/nite is our max. We understand the whole mainstream in town will be carnival atmosphere on main st. Ranchers acrossed the NW US eclipse path are charging as much as $550 for campers to camp on ranch property. As Texas 40 stated above we have solar glasses for 50 people. And We have a special happy hou event on the 19th. This happy soirée is sponsored by one of our participants. Come on up

Booze…..and the eclipse, doesn’t get any better than this!!!!!

BTW Jim, with Tom’s recent struggles in mind I have a request. If there is any slope to the parking lot, I’d like to be upstream of his bus…………………

Edit: Oops, I may have been concerned for no reason……I don’t think I see his name on the updated list.

A couple of sites that may prove interesting/useful to those interested in the eclipse and/or spending time out West this summer. Links taken from RVTravel.com…

Put in your city/zip & see animation and timing of the partial/total eclipse for that location…

Great, look forward to seeing you. Any news on turning out the parking lot lights for dark skies? Have my 17 1/2″ mirror Starsplitter telescope in the front bay as well as some big 25×100 binoculars.

Hey Doc, Monty the superintendent of TetonnSchool district told me parking lot lights will stay on. But we can gain darkness, less lighting by leaving the parking lot. We will be passing thru there this Sunday on the way to Yellowstone. We’ll stop and look at what he was talking about and report back.

Thanks for the update. We added the 16th at Teton also for some full hookup laundry, general clean up, and R&R time.
