Here is a 2017 DD brochure about: Oil, fuel, & filters, etc

    http://ddcsn.com/cps/rde/xbcr/ddcsn/DDC-SVC-BRO-0001.pdf

I pieced together the bypass systems for my diesel MHs for less than $100. If anybody wants part #s, etc, let me know.

*Note* I always add a petcock to the remote filter heads to make it easy to get a sample for analysis.

Here are pics of the bypass system on my 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser w/165K mile gasoline 4 Ltr. The third pic is of a remote mounted filter for its auto tranny. As stock, Toyota only provides a screen for trans fluid filtration, so I pieced together & installed a remote setup.

On the XL’s you can turn on your 24V engine battery switch in the rear engine compartment leaving the 12V off. Then using the rear start spin the engine until you see oil pressure on the mechanical OPG in back. Then switch on the 12V, and start normally. I do this on my coach if it has set for over 30 days.

Have the (or any) diesel engine manufacturers specified or cleared any (or specific) full synthetics now for use in their engines? Engine oils, especially for diesels, aircraft engines, aircooled engines, etc., with their included inhibitors and viscosity index improvers, are tested and then approved because materials such as special babbit bearings, injectors, fuel pumps, turbo bearings and shafts and so on, can be peculiar to the engine manufacturer. This includes seals that may be affected/attacked in some way. There are reasons why many automotive oils and lubricants are specifically not recommended/approved or listed for many large over the road diesel engines and why specific approvals are listed directly on the oil containers sold. Same for coolants, transmission fluids.

    My unsolicited two cents.

I like Mr. Bennett’s idea. Achieves what I would like the system to do. It certainly can’t hurt the engine to be primed with oil when it lights up.

Read section 2.4 in the link I provided above in my previous post in this thread
