That drawing is for a coach of “that vintage” straight out of catbase. I plugged in dale’s coach year and model and that is what came back. Now I may not be able to get the tounge unstuck from the eye tooth, but I believe that I see a splash pan on that bad boy. No?

I updated the post and corrected the link. Most places like Autozone, O’Reily’s, Pep Boys will carry some type of “flame proof” header paint. You should be O.K. witht he 1200 degree stuff. Follow the cure instructions and know that you will not like the smell as you cure the finish. But, that won’t last long.

Look at it as Bling of a different color.

I got home from FleetPride with all the stuff to start putting things back together. I even found the paint (O’Reileys) that Sawdust recomended, thanks!

I got all the bracket made and are ready for the paint. Will post a photo of the finished brackets when the muffler is in place.

Question, do I have to go through all the curing process that the paint calls for? Or can someone just tell me to paint it and forget it!

You have to cure it else it won’t last.

I had coated one set of headers and didn;t cure it. Had to have them bead blasted about 6 months later. Second time I cured and the finish stayed put.

I can’t believe that I’m having Jan bake my exhaust parts in her kitchen! It’s hot in there, I’m going back outside where it’s only 90 something with 50 % humidity. 🙂

Should be putting it all back together soon and I’ll post some photos.

We got back from MN. (1200 mile round trip) and could not believe what a OEM muffler did to out bus. We had a resinator on for the last 14 years and just loved the the purr of an 8v, now we can’t hear the engine, what should we do?

Open the top hatch Dale, nothing like the sound of that 8V…
