That sounds like another great addition to the site.
Thank you for all the hard work!

Fantastic idea for an addition to the site. Nothing worse than pulling into a campground only to find some nasty tree branches staring down at your coach. Only thing to do is back up, turn around and sleep at Walmart with the Gen running.
The recently added emergencies forum was great too. I imagine that one will save my bacon at some point in the future.
Thanks for everything on this site.

For what it’s worth we alwsys depend on our Big Rig’s book. It has never failed us yet and I’ve been using it for the past 11 years. Maybe someone should see if they would like to be an advertizer here on the PC

Sid,
When
we started PC, Big Rig wanted to be an advertiser and signed up. He
wanted to be at the very top position when you look at the
Advertiser’s page for a certain category. Since we were new, I
thought being the first Ad in a particular category would remain at
the top of the page, but it doesn’t work like that. I explained that
I made a mistake, but he got pissed and withdrew the Ad. I returned
his money and apologized for the error. In hind-site, I shouldn’t
have agreed to the page position, wouldn’t have been fair to the
other Advertisers that came on board.I
use the book also, but what is missing is any mention of overhead
clearance from branches and tree’s. That is our biggest problem in
the east, untrimmed tree’s and sites made for covered wagons. Our
new map over time will hopefully address those campgrounds that are a
problem. -
I’ve been “caught” trimming limbs at more than one campground. I carry a folding limb saw and a “high limb” rope saw.

We have used the Big Rig Book and it has proven to be a good tool.
Hoiwever I find myself using Google more and more. The way I use it to avoid the trees that are going to damage things on the roof or scratch the paint is to zoom in on the earth view.
If I can clearly see the roads in the RV park there are no trees overhanging them. I am way past wanting to overnight in little overgrown campgrounds and I am finding I am using google more and more to look at the RV park and its layout before I venture toward it.
I admit I probably don’t get to see RV parks that have pretty tree lined roads with the branches trimmed high, but I also am not scraping the wind sensors off my roof.
