Mark:
Sounds like you have a beautiful coach from the premier builder.
Have a favor to ask. I presume that Liberty installed a battery charger for the chassis batteries. I’m interested to know what the make and model of the charger. Its probably installed in the engine bay near the batteries.
Thanks!

Dick,
I just went outside to check in the battery compartment which is midway on the driver’s side of the coach. I did not see a battery charger in there (everything is very concealed). We have 3 Lithium Ion batteries and 4 inverters.
We are at the Liberty Coach showroom and I’ll ask the tech tomorrow. I looked at our spec sheet and didn’t see it listed.

Dick I think that it will be a guest charger,it should be located in the engine bay curb side, but with the Volvo engine I am not sure of the location on the newer coaches.
-
Dick,
I asked the tech and he said we have an OUTBACK brand inverter/charger. It is in the same compartment as the Lithium Ion batteries and inverters.
This is how it’s listed on our spec sheet:
4- 3500 watt -24 volt OutBack Sine Wave Inverters 3- Lithium Ion 24 volt Mastervolt Batteries interfaced to the Mastervolt Network for
complete monitoring of battery history. Battery life expected to be 10 years. 1 maintenance-free generator starting battery with auto boost from house batteries

Mark: Ask the tech specifically about a charger for the engine batteries. Thanks.
-
Dick,
FWIW like Jack I also have the Liberty installed Guest charger.
-
Dick,
The tech showed me the engine battery compartment before he took it in for service (one window was not operable on delivery), we have four 31’s with a Guest Pro 10/10 20 amp charger.
He showed me the pos and neg terminals if we ever need to be jumped but it must be a 24 volt system to jump the coach (a car won’t do) as he said it would back feed into the car.
Sorry about misunderstanding your question, I found your thread with you asking about engine battery chargers.

Mark, You guys have a wonderful ride that you will enjoy for many years, The quad slide is great, do you have a lot of room when the slides are closed to walk around, and do you have bus air, gary
-
Gary, don’t want to steal Mark’s thunder, but you can’t have bus air with more th two slides. Geo.
-
Gary, Geo is right, no bus air with a four slide coach.
We have ‘driver’s air’ along with four roof top air units. I can run all four going down the road as we have four 3,500 watt inverters. Generally, two are fine if needed. The driver’s air has an additional function as it appears to have a ‘buddy’ unit, one controller for the main unit and an additional controller for the extra unit for hot days. The additional unit operates vents behind the seat and a vent at the entry door.
To me, we have plenty of room with the slides in. On travel days, we stop and make lunch and sit at the dinette. We have full use of the fridge, kitchen and the two sofa’s. We have a bath and a half so the middle bathroom is available. The bed blocks the full bath in the back.

Sid,
Next time we’re in your area, we will try and meet up with you. Jack

We have driven the new Liberty for about 1,000 miles (3,200 miles at delivery).
At 53K-54K lbs., it sure takes the hills quite well (need to get it weighed). I reset the trip odometer near Macon, GA, when we filled up at a Pilot station. At just over 325 miles on our first purchased tank of fuel and going through the mountains of Chattanooga, the computer says we are averaging 7.1 mpg.
My real life expectation would be 6-6.5 mpg. I’ll put pencil to paper to see the actual mileage.
I’ve kept a rather steady speed of 60 mph and our toad weighs about 3,400 lbs. I know that such a short trip is not conducive of a long-term average but I was pleasantly surprised as the engine should break-in at 20K miles or so.
The smoothness while driving is very nice.

The reported mileage on the message center can be either very accurate or it can require adjustment. I use very large blocks of miles and a significant number of gallons added to arrive at accurate numbers (adjusted for generator use by .4 gallons per hour) and so far on two coaches accuracy has been good.
My DDEC has been changed recently and it has either made my reported mileage inaccurate, or I am getting much better mileage. I will know in about 10,000 miles if I can trust it.
