No sensors on a Liberty, just a plastic tube from the top of the tank down inside.

Hmm, maybe my trouble shooting with positive results created a false assumption? I do know that when I hooked the drain pipe up and opened the dump valve it took a while to drain the tank. And we havent had an issue with the pump since then.
Will keep an eye out on it going forward.
I’ll also work on seeing about calibrating the tank level sensors.

Charles, I know some, and maybe all Liberty coaches of your vintage have an automatic water fill feature. And maybe if you have this feature you will want to use it. However as of now you are still learning the coach so I would strongly suggest you manually fill your water tank when it gets down to 30% or some safe level, and dump the holding tank at the same time so you never introduce more into the holding tank than you have room for.
When you know the calibrations are correct on the sensors and you have things under control with respect to how often you need to drain the tank then you can be more flexible in allowing the systems to work automatically if you are inclined to do so.

Okay, so doesnt seem to be associated to the holding tank, but more to the level of the fresh tank (as Tom and others pointed out). Seems we really need to calibrate the level sensor. Will do that when we get home tonight (probably this weekend).
Thanks

So far this thread is suggesting that somehow the water pump is impacted by the level of waste water or the level of fresh water.
I don’t think so. To the best of my knowledge there is nothing that controls the Headhunter pump (or the Groco that preceded it) related to tank levels. The pumps have had “run dry” protection but other than that I don’t believe either has any control other than the on-off switch or the pressure switch.

I mentioned earlier that I have the cousin to yours at least on the outside. If my memory serves me , I believe I did have a water pump shut down with a high holding tank level. Dumped the tank and the pump worked fine.
Let’s communicate because there is quite a learning curve. Most of my issues were just lack of understanding on my part. Hope you have a great time in your new coach.

Like Wave said, lets keep the communication coming.
Mine does not shut down the Mach 5 when hitting full, I did it just today. The tank sentry was showing full red and the pump would still run.
Somebody call Troy…..

If the pump does shut down again I would go to the bay and vith a volt meter check the voltage at the pump. The other thing that can be a problem is if the water pressure accumulator tank(usually blue in color)does not have enough air pressure in it,it should have about 40 PSI,you must turn off the pump and turn on a spigot and make sure there is not any water pressure in the pipes then you can check the air pressure in the accumulator.
