Spent several months in Nawlings after Katrina. Worked with a gent that was born and raised there. He said anyone that was from north of New Orleans was a Yankee. He had moved to key west. He shared some king cake with us. I got a baby in my piece. A place called Deanies or something like that in Metairie is a great place for some awesome Cajun cuisine.

Deanies is very good… we eat there every time we go … in fact we will be eating there the end of this month.
We are members of the FMCA Chapter “Cruisin Cajuns” and they are the nicest friendliest folks you would ever hope to meet and they are from all over Louisiana and quite a few from Texas… they know how to have fun…cook.. drink… dance and party. A really great crowd.

Now, Buddy….I’ll have to debate the restaurant thing. Our favorite in New Orleans is DRAGO’s….Don’t go to the one in the quarter; that’s for tourists. Go to the one off Veterans– and don’t leave there without a dose of their charbroiled oysters on the half shell…..uuuummmmm, make you slap your mammy!!!
