Doesn’t seem to be an emergency so this is probably in the wrong area. If you don’t know, and it isn’t in the manuals Liberty provides, call Troy or your Liberty salesman to ask. Everything is different with the Volta system, so it is not likely that you will get the information you request here.

A pretty long time. I love my system. It really depends on the temperature, how many air conditioning units you use, etc. I get 8-16 hours with one or two airs on. It is pretty amazing how well it works.

No air? You can go all day!!!!

I am sorry that my answer is not very exact or scientific. It is night and day difference between the 2011 I had without, and my 2018 with.

I am designing a new Liberty couch now, and I am going to see if I can get one more battery pack.-:) That should give extraordinary times.

@Chucksweet , are you able to run EVERYTHING in the coach off of the 12.5kw Onan generator? My research shows that the total power output of that particular generator is only 52 amps.

I can run everything I want to run. I know I have run 2 air conditioners and everything else. Not sure about 3 or 4.

Frankly, I don’t run the generator very often because the 58 volt system works so well.

There is a wide range of operating procedures available to all of us, but with restrictions based on how a coach is set up, its battery capacity, and personal preferences relative to such things as when or not to run the generator.

The game changer has been Li Batteries.

For an owner to determine how to operate the coach with respect to use of the house electrical system the system’s abilities have to be taken into consideration. To be able to run multiple A/Cs for 8 hours as an example means a coach has a couple thousand pounds of and the volume of multiple AGM batteries, or substantially less weight and volume of Li batteries.

Dry campers with AGM batteries as they are normally provided by converters might be able to run a couple of hours of A/C time. As you can see above it is a whole new world when equipped with Li batteries which is going to greatly influence how future coaches are operated.

I have seriously considered a Marathon build, but they will not even consider a Lithium installation, and bus-air , which is a must for me but seems alien to them. I love all the amenities and features that Marathon does include as standard and optional compared to Liberty, but they just won’t do Lithium installation at all. They seem to be unwilling to adapt to the changing times.

Actually Marathon has 2 buses with LI batteries, maybe they didn’t think you were serious.

When Liberty solves the heat issues and someone explains to me how a 58 volt system works I might get on board.

Franks giving you half a generator and a battery system made by one company in the USA and telling you how good his stuff is and he’s up to pushing a 2 slide coach for 2,650,0000 dollars. What a deal.

And no the generator won’t power the whole bus under load.

I’ll stay with what I know for a while.

Bernie, I’ve seen your latest build on Marathon Mondays with Mal W. and I hav got to say , THAT IS 1 AWESOME COACH. I want one just like it in an H model and without the extra bling you add to the rear-fender well. That is a beautiful coach.

I need a coach that I can tailgate in some of the time . I need one that I can run at least 2 air without the generator polluting everyone elses tailgate with the smell of diesel from my own party. Besides, most venues don’t allow use of generators.

That is simple to do without having to go the LI route.

Also you could get down there and kiss the generator pipe on my bus and not smell diesel. In fact that is the only thing I was impressed about with conforming tier 4 emissions and Marathon runs a 20k Power Tech.

So, Mr. Bernie, please tell me HOW I can tailgate and use 2 roof airs in a Marathon Coach without using the generators—Inquiring minds want to know ?

You can run 2 roof airs thru the inverters if you have 6 fully charged lifelines for 3 to 4 hours which is standard equipment.

When I park at night I run the bedroom ac off the inverter for 6 hours easy if I camp out in a casino or parking lot and don’t want to run the gen because of a small load.

Learn how to manage your bus, this is important. If you have your batteries up to snuff this is easily attained.

I’m telling you the new generators we are running now at tier 4 are so clean you don’t even know there on.

What I am telling you is nothing new, people just don’t know how to manage it so they cry bullshit.
