What makes you think I won’t have another rivetmobile?

I have rivits but was thinking about a 60 series engine ,,, but again my 8v92 is great is ther a big differnce or advantage ,,, disadvantage worth losing my rivits over??? You know i think that rivits look a lot nicer than a patch strip over them.

After all the posts and anecdotal evidence about XLII de-lamination, what do we really know at this point ? 1) All XLII shells have this problem to some extent. Evidently the bonding process during manufacturing was faulty. 2) re-affixing panels with the same material, sika, or loc-tite does not appear to be a permanent fix. 3) Re-bonding and then riveting with a cover strip will likely keep the panels on at the edges, but will not prevent voids in between. That said, it may be the best solution because you can also rivet the flanges on the bay door panels as they are unseen with doors closed. 4) Prevost will probably keep their present policy of treating each situation on a case by case basis along with an age cut off date. Since most of us either unable or unwilling to buy a new or a 1-4 yr old coach, how does this affect the rest looking to buy a newer coach ? To us, it’s fairly obvious. We recently passed on a coach that normally would have been just what we were looking for. i.e. The right price, the right mileage (not to low) and the right floor plan. A one owner coach always stored inside in a good climate part of the country. No loose edges yet, but plenty of hollow spots. Just not willing to take a chance ! We, like many others prefer the XL’s for varying reasons, but we are resigned to looking for the right H. BTW, has anyone else noticed the paucity of 2000-2004 H’s (unless you want a Vantare) along with the abundance of XLII’s for sale lately ? We love the looks of the XLII, but we’re liking our rivets more and more right now.

I find it interesting to read about this kind of issue for Prevost. Can’t say it enthuses me–our coach is 21 years old and no delamination at all! Why can’t Prevost build the fiberglass part as well as Country Coach? I also noticed the coach we drove at Marathon had stress cracks at the passenger side upper corner.

Buy a coach that has had the rivets and strips done and all we be good

Well, California Coach Co. has a very nice looking 2000 riveted Country Coach Pervost that look very good–just not sure when we can get out there to check it out. Saw the CCC owners were on the forum–think it’s great they are willing to come on a forum like this–says a lot for them! Wouldn’t mind a Country Coach Prevost–love the heated floors!
