    I’m very impressed.

I’m on record saying that a late 80’s, early 90’s Prevost is the best buy in RV’ing today. When done, this couch will be one of the best of that era.

Ron, it looks like Sterling would be a good option for a replacement if you needed to replace your current one. They also have some interesting boxes coupled to electric motors and motor controllers. Although I do not think I would do that. I would rather install something like the electric fan setup that Prevost offers if I were to convert to electric. Unless my gearbox blows up, I don’t think I will consider either one.

Well, the engine is in, it runs great, and we’ve been on a couple of shake-down cruises since. Here are some pictures. I was going to put a video of the first start-up on here, but I guess we cannot post videos.

    Rick:

What was the cause of the original coolant leak that started the hole project?

Chuck, funny you should ask. First off , there was no coolant in the air box and no evidence that it was being burned in combustion, so I assumed it was getting into the oil return gallery from the top of the head. I told the machine shop that I was looking for a coolant leak when I took the heads in to be rebuilt. When they called me to let me know the results of the magnaflux testing I asked them if they found the coolant leak. They said they didn’t know they were looking for a coolant leak and they sure could have looked for one if they knew they were looking for one. Grrr. So, Someone dropped the communication football. I will assume that it was an injector tube seal.
