If you get locked out, just dump the aux air.

I have no idea about the air system on my bus at all! haha… No idea where I would dump air.

Dale, you sound as savvy as me on the coach. Ha. If mine ever quits, I’m calling somebody. I use mine air lock going down the road for wind noise. Have to have the button on the dash pushed to activate. Would assume if somebody dumps air it would open. At night, mine has a deadbolt knob inside to lock door. I wonder if all the older coaches do.

Mike don’t know if airlock has any bearing on door closing. It has to be activeted on my 1991 from inside. My coach will leak down in about a week and found door hard to close. Had to slam. I guess coach does sttle a little or enough to hit wood inside on door. Checked wood on door panel and it was scraping. Took Dremel tool and ground wood a little. Closes okay even when coach decides to leak all the air out. Air leaks, Now that’s another mutible trip related non fixed Prevost story.

When the air starts to leak down some, if someone tugs on the door it will open with the air lock engaged. But if you go to close the door at that point, the air lock bolt is still sticking out far enough to keep the door from closing. You get a very sickening THUD! First time I ever did it, I just knew I had broken something. I don’t even bother with the air lock anymore except when rolling.

on it the door air lock was eelectric/air controlled. I put a push button (aka trunk release button) just above door handle. result if batt were on (mine stays on) you could still release air lock and open door. Hoosier engineering

Interesting statements! Still haven’t got it worked out. But I got one for you … I got locked in and had to jump out a window to use key to unlock door. Apparently when I closed the door the key lock locked all by itself. At first I tried to kick it open like Chuck Norris but the door wasn’t going to let go and open. So jumped out the window pressed the button and tried a pry bar still nothing. Then that little voice voice says try the key to unlock the door and pop the door opens up. What’s that all about?

Thanks Bob and Ted! Yep it has been a long haul and building without blueprints has been a challenge. But I must say, I am amazed at what materials I had that could be used to do the conversion. A little creativity saves a bundle in materials!
