Just want to say thank you for the fuel card program. We finally started using our cards while traveling this past week. It is just great. The swipe and go convenience alone makes this fantastic. Any discounts are gravy.

The actual tip that started the entire probe of the fraud came from an investment advisor who was provided with a little insight into the scheme from someone involved. John Verble was the man and if you want to know the entire story it is here along with links to all the legal documents.

It sure seems like I am doing my part to keep the fuel program going.
I use Love’s some and get the 10 cents off the cash price, but I end up using Pilot and Flying J more. I have to pay the $1.75 fee, but I do get 6-8 cents off the cash price using the Pilot Flying J loyalty card. The main benefit is pay at the pump. I would pay $25 a year just for that.

I was partial to Pilot/Flying J because they are a local Knoxville based company, but I bought my last gallon of fuel there when the story about them stealing from their customers was put in the local news.
Listening to the tapes of their employees who are bigoted crooks talk about how they were ripping off their customers, reading the legal documents in support of search warrants, reading all the details about how the scheme worked, and reading how a trucking company caught them doing it and forced Pilot to buy a non-operational corporate jet for some very serious money, plus pay back all that was stolen sure made it appear the criminal activity was known and went all the way to the top of the company.
Rewarding crooked companies is not something I want to do so I now go out of my way to buy all my fuel somewhere else.

All the truck stops have a CC price and a cash price. CC is generally 5-8 cents more the cash price. We get 10 cents off cash price. The discount card saves us off CC price by making us not need to go prepay $500 in cash to get cash price, plus 10.cents off that.

Can you type slower Charles. I didn’t understand how you can get more than 10 cents off the cash price?
I want to know your way to get the discount you describe. We know with the card we never have to leave the side of the coach, stand in line, give them a deposit or CC, or any of that.

Where did I say we get more then 10 cents off cash? With the card we get more then 10 cents off CC price. Without the card, someone would need to go prepay with “cash” to get the “cash” price, otherwise one would use their CC at the pump and get the “CC” price,which is generally more then “cash” price.
So in reality if you don’t pay in “cash” and would have used your CC we are saving more then 10 cents with the discount card.
Let’s say the CC price is $3.25. Cash price is $3.20. You pull up to the pump and swipe your CC. You pay $3.25 a gallon, and 100 gallons, your CC is charged $3250. Or your pull out a pile of cash and walk inside, drop $3200 for 100 gallons. Or you could pull out the discount card, swipe it and you are now paying $3100 for 100 gallons. You have now saved 15 cents a gallon over CC price for using the discount card.

New to the topic and I am very confused. I have a Flying J card and it gives me the cash price when using my CC plus a 6/gallon discount off the cash price (or is it 3). So, for no fee, I get at least 9/gallon discount at FJ off the CC price when using a CC.
Please help me out as I am a big fan of saving money on worthless expenses like fuel!

I will let Charles confirm for sure. But I think he is talking about the PC fuel card.
you get the .10 cents plus whatever the credit to cash price is. so that could be 15 – 18 cents per gallon depending on where you are at.
I love the program so much I’m talking to Deb about setting up an account for my work trucks..
