The discount afforded by Blue Beacon is appreciated. Is gives us an alternative to busting our chops when we can’t, just don’t want to or abbosutely need their help.
Thank you Blue Beacon and Jon for helping us. It is most appreciated. It also frees up extra dollars for those never ending threats of dues increases.

Thanks for the heads up Tommy.
Don’t forget folks, we try to follow up on your suggestions so if you have more, keep them coming. I did forward the somewhat negative comment to my contact at Blue Beacon. I can tell you they are very sensitive to customers needs which is why a motor home gets completely different treatment than a truck.

I have not taken the bus through a BB yet but will soon, I am over washing it myself and when I am on the road all the time it needs to get done.
I will say I had my old rig, a dually and enclosed 40ft trailer done there all the time. Some wash jobs were better than others, but all in all good and they do really try to make sure you are happy. Thanks for setting this up!

Where do I find info on discounts available and how to get them?
-
Your dues need to be fully paid up and your Prevost Community membership in good standing.

John, at the top of the forum page, click on one of the blue buttons. Enjoyed meeting you at Everglade Isles. Geo.

Thanks George, If it had been a snake, the sob woulda got me. I too enjoyed our meeting. It truly is a small world.
And, as far as the dues go we can take care of that. The “good standing” part will probably always be in question.

I used Blue Beacon for the first time yesterday in Amarillo. I had them wash the coach and the Jeep toad for $49. They do not do many of them at this location since they did not even know how much to charge at first. The wash was pretty good, I have not seen any brush marks yet but will check for that, but they did not do a good job of rinsing. The windows are streaked and the Jeep was only a fair job.

I was travelling with a client who owned a commercial truck lube center. He had been talking to Blue Beacon about adding a wash to his center. We stopped at one somewhere off of I-75 in Georgia to check it out. We watched the employees wash about three trucks, then we got permission to go inside the building to check out the equipment.
If they use the same equipment and the same employees to wash a bus, I would pass. The employees spend their day washing commercial vehicles with utilitarian paint finishes, often at the request of someone other than the owner of the vehicles. I would be concerned that my bus would receive the same level of care. And, if the paint or finish is damaged, what are you going to do about it?
I have read several “horror stories” on motorhome forums regarding damage caused to motorhomes by Blue Beacon. While I appreciate getting a discount, I am just going to drive a dirty bus.

I will run through one in the next week or two and report back!
-
Not even for free would I let any of their’s or any other truck wash center touch my coach, car or anything else. Been there done that (with horrible results).
Running through to try it can be regretful if you can’t undo the damage they caused. It only takes once to screw up your paint.

I have had the opportunity to use Blue Beacon on two occassions and have been reasonably satisfied with the results each time. I understand that these folks don’t have the pride of ownership that I have, so each time i have instructed them not to use any chemicals,or brushes – and to stay off the roof. I have stayed in the wash lane each time and verified that they followed my instructions. And as ususal after washing while still wet, I have squeeged the windows and chamoised down the stainless. I would prefer and would have paid for the service but it was not available. At any rate – I left with a clean shiny bus.
Thanks to Jon and Tom for the time and energy invested in to Blue Beacon and for obtaining a discount, but maybe more is raising the awareness of the potential Prevost Marketplace for Blue Beacon – that way maybe those of us who prefer to sit on their ass and watch can leave a happy camper.
my two cents

The problem with BB is inconsistency. The one in my hometown of Milwaukee is horrible, but the one 65 mi. is good. Had a good one in Vegas and an over the top one in we don’t remember. Use ’em in pinch with supervision and a discount is always nice We put the savings towards dues(beer). Geo.

This is just a general comment and applies to all who might provide some type of service for our coaches.
If you are fussy and have standards or concerns, always remain with the coach and observe the work being performed. If you don’t like what you see, mention it. From my perspective this applies to everything from mechanical repairs to tire changing to washing the coach.
We cannot complain if someone doing the service does not have the same sense of pride we do.
