I know that when new freon was introduced that it was tried and was decided that you had a harder time getting temps/splits….therefore anything that was using the “new” freon was converted back over to 22….

I haven’t tried in years to run anything other than 22, so I do not know for sure anymore…

Thanks Jeff for the advice and as a relative new Liberty coach owner, learning all the things to keep her running down the road can be daunting at best but very rewarding at the same time. It’s great to have a place were you can ask questions and get advice to help in the process of keeping her running down the road. much harder than when I had my 1964 Olds 442 (much bigger too)

Swapped all parts from working unit to the unit in question and it does the same thing

I don’t understand what you mean when you said “loading up”?

My CruiseAirs have two capacitors each. A “start” and a “run”. Change both of them.

When the compressor try’s to kick on its jumps to 50 amps then shuts off, I replace the compressor and it does the same thing I also took all the capacitors off a working unit with the run relays and same thing could I be lucky enough to have bought a fault compressor?

Is the condenser cooling fan turning or locked up?

Yea it’s turning on like normal. It’s a really strange occurrence

I see. I had one locking out because the fan was stuck and overloading it. Obviously something else causing your issue. Good luck

I put the working unit which I just recently installed a compressor on in place of the one that is causing issues since it’s used for the bedroom. So I will fool around with it tomorrow see what I can come up with. I’ll keep you guys posted

Sounds like it is trying to start against a high head pressure. Is the system equalizing when it is not running? Put a set of gauges on it and see is the low and high sides are equal prior to starting. If not it may be a clogged dryer or stuck expansion valve.

Ralf, when a capacitor goes bad ours does the same thing as yours.
