The state of Washington does charge to license your RV here. I think they charge around 8-8.5% of the “declared value” of your RV. It will set you back a few dollars. However, that being said….we love Battle Ground and feel it was worth it. If you are out this way, we have a very nice little DMV located on Main street next to Burgerville…there is almost never a wait and the two girls that work there are very nice and would be able to answer your questions regarding licensing. We moved out to Battle Ground last year from Oregon ourselves. We have a beautiful property close to the Battle Ground state park. There is a large shop/RV garage on our property that we are currently working on widening the driveway to accomodate our motorhome. If you are seriously looking at relocating here I would be happy to keep my eye open for property for you as I am out driving around. We grabbed our house after it was on the market only two days which was a lucky find. David fell in love with the property and wanted it after seeing the big RV garage/shop (I finally got to view the house after the garage and was ready to write an offer after walking in the front door…lol…so it suited us both well). Bus 13 is currently at the TEC located off Columbia in Portland, Oregon. They are an authorized Prevost repair shop and they are taking care of the Prevost recalls for us as well as looking at the brakes etc. We realized that if the old tires were from 1997…the brakes haven’t been looked at either so we are having them assess that as well. We are getting a price on the window replacement from them…they said they can match the tint. I may just order the window…and find another place who does engraving to take the window to them and have it installed afterwards. So window replacement will be a several step process but I want to look the same as the other windows.

We did go through a box of paperwork that we found in the closet of the RV. We were able to piece together the entire origional Beaver Coach Service Manual. Which is basically a book of general schematics for various systems and a bit of troubleshooting. David is a mechanical engineer….and he was very happy to find this. I am currently organizing this into a new binder for him. If anyone needs a copy of this book we would be happy to scan it and send a copy via email. This Beaver Coach Service Manual was issued July 1990.

Thanks again for the additional information. It has been so helpful. David will be back from his business trip this weekend. He didn’t want to leave our email address on this site and I don’t see a way to privately contact members here. We will contact you soon so that we can exchange information.

As you may have read in a prior posting. We have all the pages to the Beaver Coach July 1990 Service Manual. David is going to take this to work so he can scan these long schematic pages onto his computer. I realize our bus is older but those that don’t have a copy of this service manual might find it very helpful as it goes into details regarding the different components….we even have the command center schematic. My guess is they used the same systems but may have located them a little differently in the later buses. This book should provide very helpful though we still have to trace how/where each system was installed. We would be happy to send a copy to anyone else who doesn’t have their original service manual as this would be very useful in troubleshooting various systems.

My guess is it will still be a few weeks before we get the bus home to start troubleshooting further as we are taking care of a few repairs first. I plan to take it to a service place we have used here in Vancouver to get the bathroom fan working again and a few other items we had noticed. Then we will bring it home to tinker with it further.

PS…Anyone here with the Beaver buses belong to the Beaver club? We just joined and will probably attend some of the northwest rallies next year. It would be great to get a couple of the old buses together at a rallie one of these days.

The bathroom fan is most likely a Fantastic Fan, just call them up and tell them what wrong and they will work you thru it or replace it free.
