    Hi Jim,

Thanks for the research and interesting discussion. It has been most helpful to us. We just bought bus#13. We are located in Battle Ground, WA. This bus does have the astral windows. It does not have over the road air, just the three basement a/c’s. It does have some missing earlier ownership history. Bus 13 is in need of several repairs and we are just the ones to do it. We haven’t brought it home yet as it is making its way to a few shops for some mechanical repairs, then it will be onto have new tires placed and will make a stop at Prevost for the recall updates and further check out before it makes it’s way home to us. We still have a broken drivers passenger window to replace as well as finding someone who can do the matching beaver engraving for the window. There is a lot to do to bring this up to top running condition but we will get it there. Just takes time and money right? lol. We also need to find out where we can send the computer monitor for a chip replacement. We have many years of RVing experience though this is our first Prevost bus. My husband David is a mechanical engineer and very knowlegable with the workings of RV’s. I am a registered nurse and spent several years working as a traveling nurse at which time we were full time RVers and that is when our love of RV travel started. We are now located on property we own in Battle Ground, WA and bus 13 will be kept in its own RV garage. We intend to spend this summer checking out and fixing various systems on this bus while taking it out on a few short road trips. After we have the bus in top running condition we can then move forward on some much needed interior updating. It is a nice bus though, love the floor plan and shorter length. The history of these few buses that Beaver converted is very interesting. We have owned several Beaver’s and Safari’s in the past and hadn’t realized until now that Beaver ever converted some of the Prevost buses. We are fans of Beaver’s old quality of workmanship back in the day. Thanks again for your time and research! It has been most helpful! Judy PS….We agree that this was not Earnest Borgnine’s bus as it doesn’t have any of his monogram’s located anywhere inside.

Congratulations David and Judy, Yippe, another Beaver Bus. If you would like, I can include your info on our spreadsheet of the 23 busses I have found and email you one so you can see where we all are so far. Your floorplan is like ours, with two exceptions,. You have a really neat window in the hallway that makes so jenvious, and a window at the kitchen sink. Again congrats to you both.

As to the chip your talking about, Leon Carlson was not clear what wasn’t working when I spoke with him Does this coach have the lighting computer or are you talking about the Command Center overhead of driver?

our etched and tinted side widows were done in Bend. The window ttint place according the guys in parts at Beaver Coach sales is still around. Don’t know if the etching was done by them. I can locate our original tinting invoice for th name if you like,. Heres a number 303-907-4746

    Hi Jim,

Thanks for the info. If you can locate that window invoice without too much trouble that would be helpful if you think there is a chance they are still in business…otherwise we will just keep shopping for window options. I contacted Beaver in Bend, Oregon and they don’t work with these any longer. It sounds it will take several trips to different places to get this accomplished regardless. We want to try to keep it as authentic as possible with exception of the awful sofa and cherry red carpeting. Do you have the Beaver logo engraved in your windows too? And yes, It is the command center above the drivers head that doesn’t work at all; no power, no lights. So we need to figure out how to get this fixed as well.

PS. Don’t be too envious of that hall window. If the bathroom door is open along with window blind ….it presents a perfect picture of “you on the throne” lol. Admittedly, the kitchen window is nice though.

Also do you know of anyone with plumbing layout or wiring schematics for these buses?

Please add us to the bus list. We would love to receive a copy. We will be in touch.

    Thanks again!

the Command Center was created by owner if Javelina Corporation in Frisco Tx.

We had to have ours repaired as well. Our coach in its past had a lightening strike. If you unscrew panel screws you see each has plugs that are unique to its panel. We opted to have the left and center panels repaired with their power packs. The right one for our coach alarm, Jim said all he could do was replace the whole panel. He only had a couple left and I believe since he sold one to Bus 23 in Fallon Nv. At $1400 we opted to repurpose ut with switches for the docking lights and not bother with alarm I will look for the window invoice

Hi, I have Bus 25 and I live in Wilsonville Oregon, Ralph Stading lives in woodland WA and he has a real Borgnine bus #10.

Also Dick Wright of NWbusNuts and BusnUSA and owner of WriCo international has had several Beaver Buses over the years and knows the buses well. He lives in Eugene Oregon.

If nothing lights up on the three panels I would check and make sure it is getting 12volts.

Are you saying you are sending the bus to Mira Loma to be worked on without you?

Update on Vermont Beaver bus. I met the owner and it turns out to be a MCI. The owner bought the bus when it was 2 years old. Sadly it has has sat for the last 4 years and is showing its age from non use inside. Rick

I ran across this article and it maybe of help if the info is current.

Bill…At one time a few years ago I had the privilege of going through what to me was a junk yard for older (pre 1994) Beavers. They purchased much of Beaver’s bankruptcy items and stored it in their back yard. This family is located in Redmond, OR. They have or had Beaver parts for 1983 – 1995 coaches. They did have at that time one complete and new Command Center they would sell for $50000. The phone number I have is for Wini Whitaker. 541-548-4345. I’m not sure if this number is still active but the family operates an auto parts store in Redmond.

Another person who could be of some help would be Mike Flowerday (541-410-5555). Don’t know if this number is still active. Some of the former Beaver assemblers, painters, or wood workers might also be of some assistance. If you look in the back of the Beaver Tales for a listing of BAC supporters you may want to check them out; Coach Masters, Greg Fulton, Advantage RV, and BCS. Good luck on this one. Mike Flowerday may also know how to repair some parts of the Module.

Hey….Thanks everyone for all the contact info!

Yesterday we picked up Bus 13 and immediately took it for new tires. We were shocked to see that the old ones were date stamped 1997….whew. Then we spent the night in an RV park to begin our process of figuring out the switches….and making a list of what works and what doesn’t. (Our deal…was a grab and go). There are numerous indicators (not only the tires) that this old bus has been parked for awhile. Some ants were unhappy to find that their home started moving. There is dust and dirt in areas that we wouldn’t think possible. So far….all the interior lights seem to work….but we are only part way through the inspection process. Other than a leaky outside faucet the plumbing seems to have held up as well. However, we never figured out how to get the electric hot water heaters going….other than the main breakers is there any reset buttons? The fridgerator works and the Webasto turned on. No time to investigate further as we had to get on the road to take the bus to TEC in Portland for Prevost TLC and recalls.

The really good news was that on the way to TEC the Command Center powered up….we will have to wait until we have more time to investigate the workings of this further. Happy to see it had power and number indicators lighting up.

Anyone know how big the gas tank is? The girls at the gas counter were taking bets as to when the meter would stop…lol. We were just shy of $700….so still not sure how big the gas tank is….or the size of any tanks for that matter.

There were a couple books left in the bus…but we aren’t sure what info we have as of yet. It will probably be more than a week before we actually take the bus home. We will then continue with our investigation process.

Have to say….the ride was very everything we had hoped it would be. The detroit mechanic was impressed with how easily it starts and it purrs right along.

Thanks again for everyones help with our old bus.

    Dave and Judy,

many of the Beaver busses have the standard 160’gallon fuel. A few of them have the optional “long range fuel tank” set up with additional 90 gallons supplemental tank thats in the bulk head between bay three and bay two with a connecting hose to main tank on the bottom. If your fuel stop of $700 gave you more than 160, Bus 13 has the long range tank

if you call Monday Prevost parts in Elgin I’ll and ask for your coach build sheet which Prevost will identify it as L-1686, it will show tank cap, gear ratio for differential, etc and answer mire of your questions

glad your command center powered up, but keep in mind it should illuminate with motor and ignition key off as well as running down the road. Hit the on/ off button while your parked if you haven’t already to see if it turns on That’s one issue ours had, and needed a new power pack.

still looking for window tint outfit. You might call beaver coach sales and ask poor Ty Kelly. He nay know a source for window etching or might be able to point you to someone who nay know
