Anybody in touch with JC? He stopped posting not long after starting this thread. We had plans to meet in January 2021 when I was going to be down his way, but I had to postpone my trip. He didn’t respond to a couple of texts after that. Hope he’s well.

Hi,
I knew the name but never met him. I was largely in the southeast. In addition to flying MU2s, did a lot of 135 check rides for check haulers. That industry has since been replaced with digital transmission.
The MU2 was in my mind the easiest plane to fly with proper training. Without good training, not so much.
MU2s got a bad rep from low time pilots, the normal route went something like this, private license, buy a 182, in 50 hours buy a V tail Bonanza, after 50 hours buy a MU2.
At the time there was no requirements beyond a sign off by an instructor.
The procession listed was a test, Humf 182 didn’t kill me, let me try the V tail Bo, got thru that one, now I’m gonna try the MU2, passed my MEL ride in an Apache. This was the progression till one of em killed them.
Total time 200-250 hoursJeff and Lindsay
