I can’t spare you from dealing with a hack, you already did. Who made the decision to put 365 tires on a 14,000 steer axle. Did someone advise you on that or was that your idea?
Steele has done numerous videos that we’re full of mis-truths and lies about Prevosts and built a large audience doing it. His shock value titles are fine for entertaining but not truth.
If you think his videos have helped sell coaches for people that’s fine, he brings value to them but he gets paid on clicks and if you think going from a detail man to a trusted source on the internet for buses I and many others disagree.
As far as kyle goes he did the videos with Steele so he doesn’t get a pass but I know nothing of his work good or bad. And never will.
It’s none of my business who you give your money to or video’s you watch but for people to come on here and post his videos while he gets paid for the clicks is not the proper thing to do.

Thanks for the note. I am sure you know more about tires than I do. I made the decision to upgrade since I needed new front tires and I wanted a margin of safety beyond the 315. I have a friend with huge brass balls in Florida. A motorcycle racer in the old days. He told me he was never in fear as much as a blowout on a downhill curve at 70mph in the Appalachians. I am hoping to avoid that outcome.
My previous comments were in regard to Kyle Boardman. He was the original subject of this post. Comments about being a hack were not my experience with him. I found him to be a very unique young man. Maybe taking on more than he should but I admire his attitude. My coach is better than before. I enjoy it more. That is all I can say.

Wave, actually there is no margin of safety between the 315 and 365. If anything the 365 is likely to compromise it to a degree.
Do not assume the pressure required for a given axle weight has anything to do with safety or the life of the tire. The tire pressures according to the charts (or formulas if you want to get precise) provide the best combination of ride, handling, tread wear, braking and tire life. Just because one may require 110 PSI and the other 100 PSI it should not be concluded the tire with the lower pressure is safer.
As we know from experience, evidence, and directly from Michelin 365 tires have a problem with the “decoupling” groove. Due to the tire tread design of 315 tires some operators experienced a scalloping wear pattern on the outer edges of the tread. While it was not a visually pleasant thing to see it was not a condition that adversely affected the tire performance.
To eliminate the visually unacceptable condition the tire designers came up with a groove in the tread close to the transition from tread to sidewall. That design change eliminated the scalloped wear pattern, but for our application created the potential to literally tear chunks of rubber from the decoupling groove to the sidewall. A number of PC members got replacement tires because of this chunking of the tread at the groove and sidewall. Michelin took the position the tire safety was not compromised, but as acts of goodwill replaced the tires which looked like hell due to the chunks missing at the tread.
It appears that unlike coach operators such as charter companies and Greyhound, we do a greater amount of sharp low speed turns, such as when we try to wiggle though and RV park or back into a space. That low speed sharp turning action tears the tire at the decoupling groove, a problem on our coaches unique to the 365. The good news is if you experience that tearing of chinks from your tires, it is likely not a safety issue. The bad news is it that happens Michelin no likely will replace the tire for free.
The worse news is if you have an issue with a 365 tire when on the road getting it replaced is going to be a serious challenge due to the rareity of them in dealer or distributor inventory as a result of the serious limited application.
If you got talked into making the change in tire size you might want to pass this along to that person because it was not the best advice.

I’m stuck with 365 tires because of my 18,000# axle weight rating and because they are original equipment.
There is no other option and it is one of the worst things about later model coaches.

Sorry if I touched a nerve by referencing a Steele video. I personally don’t think less of anyone he features in an episode. I mean, he goes to Liberty, Emerald and many others and to me it’s no refection on their character or abilities. Would I make a decision about anything in my life based upon Steele’s comments, um that would be a big NO. But if I was in the coach business I would certainly want his viewers to see my messaging.
Here is to hoping the owner of that CC winds up in this forum so we can get some first hand knowledge of how well Kyle did or did not do on what in my view is an amazing transformation.
