Doug, which supplemental braking system to select is your choice. When I was looking for one ten years ago the M&G product would not “fit” under the hood of my 2500 Ram 4×4 pickup equipped with a Hemi. So my only choice was the Air Force 1. I had it installed at a POG Rally back in April 2007. It has worked fine since. The manufacturer had some supplier quality problem at that time in regard to bolts. Arrangements were made by the manufacturer with everyone that had an AF1 installed to inspect and replace the bolts in question.
So my only comment would be M&G was not an option, AF1 was the only choice for me. There are other systems out there that involve a temporary installation of a device on the driver’s floorboard in the towed vehicle. I can’t speak to them as that was not the procedure I was interested in.

Our AF1 has worked flawlessly the last two years, with the only maintenance item required by me was to tightened the cable to the brake pedal via an allen screw.
Breakaway system does require the extra air tank which I installed when I purchased the bus, but I love the red LED lights telling me that I’m using my Jeep brakes to stop my Jeep, instead of the bus’ brakes (Although I doubt I could tell the difference if I didn’t have it).

We had the M&G installed on our Escalade about 6 months ago… I thought it was the same as the one on our 2015 Suburban… both were installed personally by Monty the owner and designer of the M&G system in Athens Texas about 80 miles from us. He didn’t mention the system being any different from the last one has it changed?
We have been very happy with the system.
Cheers, Diane

This can be a Ford Chevy discussion.
I like the Roadmaster Brakemaster.

I have the AF one system and have it installed on the third toad. So far it has performed as expected.
This time however I lost the use of the little L E D monitor because the brake light switch is not powered with the key off. I have just never got around to correcting this and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what the fix is? A replacement switch or powered from another source?

Roger, when SMI installed the AF-1 on that coach and did my then 2010 Tahoe, they powered the brake away and that light off of the battery (with a fuse of course). It worked fine, and no need for power at the brake light switch on the toad.
***I forgot to add that they also put a pressure switch in line to activate the light.
