Ron, that plate you speak of is where the 90 degree fan drive mounts. All the busses I have seen of this vintage have this. If you look further up the post you will see a picture before i pulled the fan drive mount out.
-
OK, you made me look! I understand the question as my 1988 did not have such a cover and my 1998 does. The reason being, I am sure, is that the 1988 did not have the A/C mounted in that location and there was no flywheel setup with the 90 degree offset like the newer coaches have.

Thanks, Bill for answering my question with regard to the plate. My 1989 does not have that plate, but I sure wish it did. Seems that it would block/limit debris from entering the engine bay.
You sure have done a great job. I absolutely love the blue paint.
Mike, thanks for your input, too.
Safe travels.

Thanks, i think the Blue and Silver has nice Contrast. Next weekend I will install the Fan drive assembly and the weekend after the Radiator.
-
Today I put the Radiator back together. Ready to go back in once i pressure test it.
-
Did you paint the frame blue? That’s pretty.
When we had the radiator in our coach recored a few years ago I wished I would have had the time and opportunity to polish the brass (?) tanks on either end. That would go well with the polished copper on our Liberty Coach.
-
Dick, I thought about polishing the tanks but i was worried they would discolor over time, and it’s nearly impossible to polish again once it was installed.
-
Mike Enjoy the test drive as this coach is like new now.

Mike,
Do you have any photos of the finished transformation of your bus engine compartment?
