Truk, I’am sticking up for you on this one. A little stroke of the pen, purely a key pick error. As posting goe there seems to be things going on behind the scenes with A-1 and BCO.

Just picture this at OKC….Both parked buses, both sitting on a rocking lawn chairs in front of one of there buses.

Boom box playing Lawrence Welk music, stacks of Lennon Sisters. CD’s for sale.

How will we address this with new PC members at OKC ?

Boater Ale………There is nothing going on behind the scenes. I’m just trying to correct typos and errors and at the same time show our fellow PC member some respect. You wouldn’t like to have your name misspelled would you Ale? What if I called what’s his name Trunk? or Turk?

Are all of you aware Both Lawrence Welk and the Lennon Sisters can be seen almost every day on Direct TV and that the Lennon Sisters will have their Christmas show in Branson? Look forward to sitting under the awning in OKC enjoying The Lennons, Joe Feeney, Larry Hooper and the whole cast. Ah one and ah two…………

I will bring my “Lawerence Welk Remembers Woodstock CD’s.” It has been pointed out to me recently, that some have inadvertently been spelling my BoxcarOkie’s monicker wrong. A bus person or language person has brought this to my attention recently.

Spelling has always been my Achilles’ heel, and fortunately for me, most modern computers, bulletin boards and email servers contain spelling checkers. Which I am not ashamed to admit, I use on a daily basis. I am proud of myself in one respect, I have not used the word “Y’all” one time while posting on this board. In doing so, I would profoundly be exhibiting my apparent lack of Ed-u-may-cay-shun, and I am not about to do that.

Any of you guys write your own admit slips in high school?

I used to write them all of the time, we would cut, go over to Santa Cruz to Steamers, do our thing. And then the next day I would have to face Mrs. Ormsby in the Admissions office. And most of the time it went well, until one particular Wednesday. That was the day of my undoing, my “rude awakening” as my father used to say.

Time was slowly draggin by … I was standing there, she was reading my admit slip. “Please excuse my son, Don Smith, as he was ill on “Wedesday” (did you catch it?) and he was not able to attend school.” Then the note was signed with my father’s name.

Bad news, this dog aint gonna hunt, as they say back here. I had inadvertently forgotten that Wednesday has an “N” in it.

Mrs. Ormsby gave me the weary eye of a cat in a fish market and said, “How old is your father?” and I said, “Uh, I dunno, maybe thirty-five or so, he’s old.”

And she said, “He went to High School, did he?” and I said, “Uh, yeah, I think so.”

Then she smiled (like a big cat rushing in for the kill, aiming for the jugular this time) and she said to me, “Don’t you think he ought to be able to spell WEDNESDAY?”

Nuts! Another trip to Mr. Moody’s office (the vice principal).

30 cuts, 31 cut holds, and a letter to my father. Believe me; every word of this personal communication from my High School was spelled right. I watched him read each and every word and then he looked at me and said: “Go stand in the street until I can get the truck started!”

    He was not pleased.

So … I learned early on how to feel the pain.

See Y’all in the city, I am lined up to be parked next to Jon, I will have an electric digital pocket sign that reads: “Please speak slowly … I drive a bus and I am from Oklahoma.” wearing an electric shocking dog collar, softly humming show tunes from Guys and Gals or was that Guys and Dolls?.

    I forgit … (Okie spelling)

Thank God for spelling checkers … and of course … Bad Spellers of the World Untie!

    Mark,

You can come to OKC very easy and impossible to get lost.

Get on I-35 in Duluth… if my memory is good I-35 starts at the Super America station at London Rd.

Stay on I-35 drive 940 miles south , turn left at I-44. two miles west.

P.S. don’t forget the bubble machine

Al: I know how to get there. We have been there before on our way home right after we bought the coach in Texas. We just can not come. Our schedule won’t permit it this time. I think you guys will have a blast. Someone else (Jon?) will have to supply the bubbles!

If you have never been to an Oil Rig, here’s your chance while having big fun at the 3 Amigos’ deal.

Okay, new opportunity for lunch on Friday. We have a new drilling rig
being commissioned in our yard on 44th ST. in Oklahoma City, not very
far from my hanger. There is a lunch feed out there with a tour of the
rig – a new design aimed at shale and horizontal drilling.

Anyway, if you want to attend, let me know. If you don’t want to get
your hair messed up or have an aversion to rocks, this isn’t your kind
of place. If you want some good grub and to see a state of the art
drilling rig while wearing a snappy looking hard hat – game on.

The last time Jdub took us to a rig, it looked like this:
