Jim: When you took your coach to the Detroit shop, did they have a chassis dyno you could run the coach on?

No, we didn’t ask about a dyne. The bus was put on a lift, tho so we could get under it

I would be interested why you went from an H-3 to an XLII, and why you went from a converter that is still in business to one that is not?

It is not entirely true that Country Coach is out of business. Ron Lee, one of the brothers who founded the company, bought up the intellectual property during the bankruptcy in 2010, and is running a relatively small maintenance operation out some of the old CC buildings. The intellectual property includes specs and details on Country Coaches built, to include Prevost conversions. While having work done there I have seen some Prevosts, and Ron Lee just finished building a new CC Allure he hopes will attract investors to start production (of sticks and staples coaches, though!). I doubt they will do any Prevost conversions any time soon, but they do have the build plans for all CC coaches. CC Prevost conversions are somewhat unique in that CC installed an automotive AC compressor to provide AC for the bedroom and salon. We have the same system, except ours does the dash and bedroom. Near as I can tell, the system provides about 30,000 Btus of cooling. Prevost has the advantage that they still have the Prevost dash AC compressor in addition to the CC “OTR” AC. Of course, the CC “OTR” AC system falls a bit short of the 80,000 Btu in the Prevost OTR system (New units have 108,000Btus!) -
